1) The new gondolas are up and "running".
2) We took the employee preview ride yesterday (Thur, 9/26/2019).
3) We were to board/start at Hollywood Studios.
4) We got there at appointed time, and gondolas were not running !!!
5) Lines for the gondolas were backing up, even with a scheduled rider capacity
6) We were bused to a resort for our ride.
7) The ride is nice, but my thoughts are of how guests are treated when the gondolas break down
8) Another case of Ogre (aka: "Iger")wanting bonuses, versus keeping guest-experiences at a high level.
NOTES:
. . . the gondolas were actually quite cool/pleasant, even with no air conditioning
. . . we sat next to a lady from Casting (aka: Human resources).
. . . we mentioned the rumors of bus driver layoffs due to the gondolas.
. . . she replied they are not currently looking to hire drivers (first time in at least 5-years)
. . . we asked, what happens to guest experiences when gondolas breakdown, and no buses to transport
. . . we further said we have seen breakdowns in Europe, USA, and Australia fro gondolas
. . . we added that to to supplement with drivers, they would have to pull from other resort bus routes
. . . this would cause bus delays at those resorts and anger guests
. . . she simply shrugged her shoulders
. . . alas, my predictions of guest-experience issues is recognized by those involved
. . . what will happen if/when system breaks down during a morn or evening Rush Hour ?!?!?!
