The front desk used to be able to make reservations with Indian River Club, a private club on the south side of Vero Beach. Not sure if Disney still has that connection, but I highly recommend it if they do. Nice course and clubhouse with a beautiful veranda for lunch and adult beverages after your round. Here's the website: http://www.indianriverclub.com/
Sandridge is a good county owned 36 hole facility in Vero. I lived in Ft Pierce for a couple of years and played it often. Further away in St Lucie is PGA Village, another awesome golf facility with 54 holes. The Champions at Summerfield in Stuart is another great course. My go to course was Fairwinds just south of Indrio Road between Vero and Ft Pierce, it's an Indian River county course that was convienent to where I lived. Nice like Sandridge but special was always Champions or Pga Village. Eagles Marsh in Jensen Beach is great too but it had too much water and it swallowed up my balls. There are many many courses in the area, but I'd call the above my favorites.
Wow, PamOKW, i remember you from when this board originated. You have many more posts then I have but I've been around as long. Remember when they reset everyone to a 1999 join date and killed off our post count? I hope you've enjoyed your DVC as much as we have and are glad we joined OKW in 98, BWV in 2000, BCV in 2002 and BWV again in 2003.
