Has anyone played any of the courses? What is the best one?

Do you rent or bring your own clubs?

I want to play on my trip in October, just wondering if it's worth it. :)

Hi, lots of great golf in the area and at Disney...rental clubs always available...If you are a mid handicapper, like 12 to 20, I would recommend the Palm using the tees at about 6100 yards...Fun course and you will see it on TV at the Funai Classic.
Also other local courses are great...would recommend Mystic Dunes just 3 miles south of Disney on 545 or Old Lake Wilson Rd, or Celebration just outside of Disney...enjoy

Great courses and the weather should be perfect that time of year. The PGA Tour plays the Magnolia and Palm courses the first weekend in November. I think the rates might go back up a little from their summer discounted rates, but probably not as much as their winter premiums.

I usually bring my clubs, since I love to golf and I've grown accustomed to having my own equipment. But Disney has really good rental clubs available. You may want to bring your own spikeless shoes, balls, tees, etc.

Here's the link to the official website, and there are some other unofficial sites that you can google.

My favorite course is Osprey Ridge. Tom Fazio design. Fabulous layout, and usually in top condition. The PGA courses are fun too. I like LBV because it's shorter (I'm not a long hitter) and meanders through the Old Key West vacation club resort which is usually where I stay when I'm there.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks guys...

I wanted to play Magnolia, but they may be prepping it for the PGA the week I'm there then. I'll definitely bring my own shoes (I don't like rental's I'm strange like that...lol) I don't know about lugging my own clubs to FL, so I may rent.

Depending how much I play this summer will depend on which course I guess. I'm not a great golfer but I love to play, I don't hit that far b/c I'm a girl...LOL but I have a decent short game.

Thanks for the site, I'll look at it. I can't book a tee time yet anyway since I'll be going the last week of Oct. Thanks again.

DH thinks WDW is a golf resort that happens to have theme parks to keep the non-golfers entertained while the "real" visitors golf. He brings his own clubs and shoes-since he golfs every day, it's worth it to him. However, many years ago, he rented clubs once and was real pleased with the quality of the clubs that WDW rents. He likes all the courses, the "best" one is probably different for everyone. The most challenging is probably Osprey Ridge, and it has the most awesome scenery. He likes LBV a lot-lots of people think the course is tight, with all the resort buildings around it, but he's used to that at home. And since we stay at OKW, you can't beat the fun of being able to wave at your family up on the porch of your villa. DMIL thought the Palm had too much water, but DH has always enjoyed it there (come to think of it, he hasn't met a golf course he hasn't enjoyed!) Check out this website: www.wdwgolf.com It is lots of good information.

I prefer Palm, but that's just me. Both and Palm and Magnolia are great, even in between hurricanes. Talk about playing long......

Unless they are changing the format for this year's tournament (and Ihaven't heard that they are or are not), they will be playing on both courses during the qualifying. Most likely if they won't let you play Magnolia during the 'prepping', it will be the same for Palm.
