I will be in WDW in july & august. my in-laws are joining me in august. we want to golf. the last time i played golf at wdw was in '87 at lake buena vista. i have a couple of questions:

1. which are the "nicest" courses (visually attractive, best clubhouse, etc...

2. could anyone rank them in order of difficulty? ( i am a hack, but i have quite a bit of fun)

3. I have an anual pass, so I know I get 30% off of the rates. We want to play at 7:30 or so in the am. Does anyone know the approximate rates?

4. Are soft-spikes required?

5. I also plan to play on HHI on the way home (we are stopping for a few days ~gotta love DVC~) any suggestions for a VERY reasonably priced course that is also a nice course?

6. Any other tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

I wish I had time to golf when we are at Disney in August since I am a golf fanatic but I don't think I'll have the time.
I found a pretty good website that describes all the Disney Courses for you. Maybe you have already seen this website??? I don't know but here it is anyways. Good Luck!

I'm currently a 27 handicap so perhaps I can help with the difficulty level....I would rank the courses, from easiest to hardest, as:

1. Lake Buena Vista (easiest)
2. Eagle Pines
3. Magnolia
4. Osprey Ridge
5. Palm (hardest)

Of course, this depends on which tee boxes you are playing from, whether the wind is blowing favorably that day, did you sleep well, etc.

The best "looking" course is Osprey Ridge (it's also the most expensive). Well worth trying out at least once. Boardwalks were built to go over alot of the marsh land (from one green to the next tee). Osprey and Eagle Pines share a clubhouse - which is very nice!

Magnolia and Palm seem to get more of the "better" golfers since those two courses host the PGA tournament every year - everyone wants to play where Tiger played :hyper:

I have played all 99 holes - several times - and there really isn't a bad experience with Disney Golf. Which reminds me - don't discount the walking Oak Trail course - it is difficult in it's own right (9 holes only), seldom crowded, and perfect if you only have a couple hours to spare!

In answer to your question about soft spikes, yes they are required. And DH seconds the idea of Osprey being the most attractive course. You mentioned HHI-there are 3 courses across the street, Palmetto Dunes courses, that the Disney resort recommended-I think you get a discount if they reserve for you. If you want reasonable price, don't even think about playing out at Harbortown. DH wouldn't even tell me how much it cost when he played there-just told me "Expensive!"
