I'm really not sure where to post this question. I will start here. My DH & I will be at FW on the Silver package May 8-17. We are planning a morning of golf, and already have a Tee time for Magnolia. Question: We are not great golfers, we enjoy it so very much, but we are not quite "hackers" but we do have some really bad shots. Our vacation will not be complete without at least one round of golf at a Disney course. Are we going to feel uncomfortable, or rushed. My worst fear is being paired with another couple that actually are really good, and being embarrased the entire time and actually playing really, really bad. My DH is concerned about not being able to enjoy ourselves, and having a horrible experience. Any imput or advise will be greatly appreciated. Just a note.... we do play alot of golf, and I just started a couple of years ago, and actually we have some really good shots. But I do know that alot of "good" golfers hate it when they have to put up with "hackers". HELP PLEASE!!:earsgirl:

The only complaint I ever hear from all the people that I have golfed with is when people don't know/use proper etiquette (slow play being the worst offense). When you play a course on Disney or other resort courses you expect to play a little slower, but not 6 hour round slow.

As long as you keep pace, hit all the good or bad shots you want and have a great time.

I'm about a 14 handicap and I've played with golfers of all abilities, from scratch to 30 handicap, all over the country. Chances are that at a resort course you'll find more golfers in the same situation as you and your husband, as opposed to low handicap serious golfers.

If you do find yourself paired with "good" players, chances are that you'll be more concerned about your bad shots than they will. A good golfer is focused on his/her own game and not what the others in the group are doing (as long as you're keeping up).

As long as you maintain your pace of play (focus on staying behind the group in front of you, not in front of the group behind you) and know basic golf etiquette (don't talk while someone is getting ready to hit or while they're hitting; turn off your cell phone; on the green, don't walk between a ball and the hole, etc.) you'll be fine. Relax and enjoy yourself.

That's very true, at least for DH. He's a scratch golfer who plays a lot a WDW. Most everyone he gets paired with is a "recreational" golfer, not a very low handicap. He always has a great time, and his only complaint is that other people tend to appologize for their play. He wishes people would just relax and have fun-he does! The golf courses at WDW are beautiful-enjoy!
