Will be heading down in late July. Planned on playing more then a few rounds so was going to purchase DVC golf plan/card or whatever it is called when we get in.

Question is I know you have to play after 10 AM. Exactly how brutal is the heat that time of day? Can always cool off at parks but not exactly like they are going to have too many shops or restaurants between 1-9 and 10-18 holes:lmao:

Just wanted to now what we would be in for.

Thanks

Well, it depends how you handle heat I guess. We golfed July 4th week with a 7am tee time and around hole #12 or 13 I was really beat down by the heat/humidity. At least in the parks you can duck into some AC in a store or ride or at the resort you can get in and out of the pool. Golfing is 18 holes of no access to AC. Too much for me to go in the summer again. We'll stick to golfing on our winter trips.

Before 10 a.m. during the summer, the courses regular price is in the $90 to $110 range (with Osprey the most expensive). If you have an AP you get 30% off those prices before 10 a.m. so you can play in the about $65 to $80 range.

After 10, regular prices drop to $45 (Palm and LBV) and to $55 (Osprey and Magnolia). The DVC discount let's you play for $35 (the AP discount does not apply after 10 because the regular after 10 prices are already considered to be discounted).

I provide the above information because I have played many times in the summer both early, usually around 7 (using AP) and then after 10 (using DVC). Actually what I often do is play the cheaper courses, LBV and Palm, in the early morning using the AP discount (and thus play for about $65), and the Magnolia and Osprey after 10 using the DVC discount. After 10, the heat is brutal -- by the time you finish your clothes will be soaked with sweat. Also, the summer pattern of thunderstorms creates a higher risk of getting one after 12 than early morning.

Thanks, I will keep everything in mind when deciding to play or not.

Probably will suck it up this year and try it and see how sweat soaked we can get and decide on future play. I guess at that point you can hope for the daily T-Storm!!!

Unfortunately until daughter is out of school summer vacations are it.

Thanks

It's hot but worth it. Just drink plenty of water and have fun.
