I am going to HH in two months. I was wondering what the good golf courses are around HH? Also do you know which course Disney gives discounts for?;)

Right across the main road form DVC-HH is the Palmetto Dunes Golf and Tennis Center. It has some wonderful courses to select from. You will receive a car pass to enter the roadways there so go take a look.

If you take a drive to Sea Pines Plantation there is a great course that has one hole facing the ocean. I think this is the course they play the MCI Classic Tournament on. You could see it from the Harbortown shopping area. It will cost you $6 to get through the Sea Pines security gate. The guard can give you directions to the course.

For course discounts, go to your current Member's Benefits Guidebook. You should have received the latest one in the last few months; if you don't have it go to the one that is on-line at the DVC official site. It has a section on golf at Hilton Head and lists the courses for which there is a discount. It has been a while since I have been to HH, but you should assume that golf and Hilton Head are synonyms. There are a lot of courses and mostly all of them are good. One of the top courses in the nation is Harbour Town where the annual PGA tournament is; although it is very expensive. I found all the courses at the Palmetto Dunes resort to be very good but there are many others.

Get one of the free golf magazines when you first get there and look in the back for special offers. During the off season I was able to get green fees and a cart for under $35 at several places with the coupons. A lot of the cheaper courses are off the island, but still kinda close. Harbour Town has a flat fee of $240 if you want to play there...(not me Babe).

I have some links to golf course info included on my web site.

We just got back from a week stay and played golf at 4 different courses. The Palmetto Dunes courses are very close and nice. Disney has a good discount at the Robert Trent and Fazio courses that is even better than the listed price in the member guide.
There are over 20 other courses around the island and within a 1/2 hour on the mainland so you should be able to find whatever challenge level you want.
In addition to the Dunes we also liked the Port Royal courses which are about 3 miles away.
Have a great trip.
