Hello

We are going to WDW June 25-July 8. We are staying @ Fort Wilderness in our camper. I have been seeing postings about golf cart rentals. . We have a family of six would we all be able to ride in one cart? Can we do without it or would it be best to go ahead and rent one. Do you get a discount for long rentals?

:thanks:

You do get a discount if you rent for 7 days or more. I believe it is 10%. They say the max is 4 in the golf cart. If you have small children you can probably get them all on. What we do is take 4 and the our "driver" comes back for the rest. Of course our "driver" which is one of our 2 DS's doesn't mind having to do a little extra driving. And yes for those wondering, they are both licensed drivers.:cool1:

We used 2 carts for 12 people. Two were little guys and we rarley had all 12 going to the same places at the same time so it was not a problem. They do have a couple of 6 seater carts but these are hard to get and cost more. :cheer2:

The cost to rent a cart at Fort Wilderness is $44 plus tax at $2.86 comes to $46.86 per day. If you rent it for a whole week there is a 10% discount.we only rented a cart for one day just to tour around the park. The rest of the time we were pleased with the bus service. We never waited more than 10 minuets for a bus and we were there 14 days. Enjoy your vacation. :sunny:

At our "too young to stay alone and only 2 adults" stage, we (my best friend and I) got 9 kids (ages 9 months to 12 years) one cooler, two chairs, one stroller and two full grown idiots on our cart. The looks we got were priceless. You could actually see people pointing and counting at the same time. I need to add it was my own personal cart so Disney did not stop me. Thank goodness most of the kids are now old enough to stay put while I take the first load down to the pool and returned for the second load. :teeth:

Wow sounds like a circus act :lmao: Wish I had been there we would have pictures.

I have visions of clowns and a VW :rotfl:

I need to add that the 12 yo is a special needs child and the next oldest was only 7. I did think of the whole clown in a vw, but I preferred the saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, Dingleberries on parade!" :rotfl2: :lmao:

We've been to Fort Wilderness on 4 separate occasions (at both busy times and not so busy times) and we've never rented a golf cart. We had no problems getting where we needed to be. We found the buses to be reliable and frequent, the Settlement area and Meadows Trading Post were reasonable walks from the 1400 loop, where we stayed, and we brought our bikes and rode them frequently when we were in the campground. My DH LOVES toys, and a golf cart is most definitely a toy, so if he had felt the slightest need for a golf cart, he would have gotten one. Even during the non-busy times when they were available, he passed.

We have three kids and two "pooh" sized adults and we all fit very comfortably. Also, even if you are not sure if you want the cart, I would reserve it anyway because if you decide you want one once you get there, you almost certainly will not get one without a reservation.

THey are mighty cool!

We have camped at Fort Wilderness many times. We have probably rented a golf cart about half of the times. It is definitely more fun to drive around in a cart.....kids love it especailly. But if you bring bicycles you can get around just fine. Or you can even use the buses, although it takes longer to get around.

How far in advance can they be reserved? We have a Christmas trip scheduled this year. Anyone know the number to call or do I just go through the Grand Gatherings number?

TIA!!

I don't have the number handy, but I can tell you that I reserved one in January for our Christmas 06 trip!
