We're thinking of staying in a cabin at Fort Wilderness and renting a golf cart.

1. If we rent cart for length of stay does it stay with us at the cabin or do we have to turn it in every night?

2. Am I correct in assuming that there is golf cart parking somewhere near resort entrance so we can leave cart, take car or bus to park, then pick up cart to go back to cabin?

3. Can we rent from somewhere else? I know you can rent strollers and EVCs from other companies and they will deliver to the resort for you; can you do the same thing for golf carts? I haven't found info on this yet.

Thanks!

There's an official golf cart thread around here somewhere. Lots of good info on it. Do a search. I am sorry, I don't know how to link!

1. Your golf cart is yours for your entire stay. Yes, you can keep it at the cabin with you overnight.

2. There is cart parking in several places at the fort, including those places that offer tranpotation to other parks and resorts.

3. Yes, you can rent golf carts from an outside source. I am only aware of one that Disney allows to deliver to the Fort. Kenny @ Tee Time. Better rates and, from all reviews, absolutely stellar service.

To correct you on #3, Disney does not allow any outside vendors to deliver carts to Ft. Wilderness. As was noted on an earlier post about golf carts, Kenny has already been verbally warned not to deliver carts to The Fort. He just hasn't been caught a second time and hasn't been officially trespassed from the property. He now just trys to fly under the radar by delivering early in the morning and picking up late in the evening.

The grammar police will get you on "...and hasn't been officially tresspassed from the property."

Disney has used intimidation techiniques certainly but it's laughable to think the Disney popo are lurking and waiting for a "second time". Kenny delivers when it's convenient for his customers, he sneaks through no code gates, he violates no road rules to do his work, he fulfills a business transaction directly with me (and not Disney), and he is a he11 of a businessman. His business is handled through the internet and via cellphone; he's not sitting there with a sign at the Fort saying "Rent From Me". Does Disney keep the UPS man from delivering a package to me at the resort? Same principle applies...

As a customer of his, I can tell you that Disney (if they were smart but they're not because of their corporate arrogance) would learn a thing or two from Kenny. If I'm in the market for a golf cart at the Fort I would call Kenny in a heartbeat.

Remember that episode of MASH where the Officer's Club was built but the enlisted men couldn't get in? Hawkeye said that Radar "was like a son to me" and part of the family and so he got in. Kenny is like "my third cousin" (and in an extended sense is related to a lot of people on this board). I could put him on my ressie if I wanted to. Shoot, we're practically family! :grouphug:

I bet Kenny would be suddenly "related to a lot of us" ;) I think my great cousin third removed, divorced and remarried again to my fourth cousin sixth removed and Kenny's great-great aunt on his father's side, twice removed are brother and sisters somehow. LOL!

Kenny is a great guy and I'd be glad to have him in my family! We rented from him last year and have reserved for this year! A nicer person you will never meet! You absolutely can't go wrong renting from him. :thumbsup2

Very well put. If I didn't own a cart already, this is the man I would rent one from, not Disney.

Wow, I didn't know the Grammer popo were on here to correct us and spell the correction wrong. Trespassed is spelled right, at least where I come from. I was simply correcting a statement that someone wrote that was not correct . I agree that Kenny is the greatest golf cart rental person that has ever walked the earth, but don't think that if he is trespassed you can get him to deliver you a cart just by saying he is related to you. You are camping on private property and the property owner can ban anyone it wants even if it is your uncle, second cousin twice removed, etc.

I don't think that Ed was referring to your spelling, but rather to your grammar (yes, it is spelled with an "a"). A person cannot "be trespassed". That would mean that someone "entered him without his permission" :scared1: He can however "be accused of or charged with trespassing".

Just for the record, I don't really care what you misspell or use in a way that grammatically offends someone. Life is too short to care about such things.

Rented from Kenny this past Jan/Feb and he was TERRIFIC!!! absolutely stellar service.... We plan on renting from him every time we go!! Recommend to anyone that wants good service at an excellent price.....
{Besides... his carts come with rain flaps and Disney's don't... came in handy when it rained, we still toured in the rain too!!! lol}

Who has rented from Kenny recently? I am hoping to rent from him in May and hope he is still allowed to deliver to the Fort.

Me! Me! Well, I will be this afternoon. :cool1: As far as I know, he will still be allowed to meet me and deliver the cart. I'll post if something happens!

Thanks! It went very smoothly, except for the pouring rain! Thank goodness he has rain flaps on the cart! His associate, Doug, met us in the parking lot and unloaded it for me. He was professional and nice. So far, so good!

OK, y'all. My husband is now asking what I put in my water glass. I am minding my own business, doing legitimate research for our upcoming trip and stumble upon this thread, which, on the surface appears to have all the information I need, when suddenly, I see :scared1: and an explanation of the importance of verb tenses. I snarfed my water, tears rolled down my face and I couldn't make a coherent sentence to explain myself because I was laughing too much. DH's response? "It's another one of those DIS things, huh?" and rolled his eyes.

Glad to hear that Kenny is still delivering and hasn't been subjected to any harsh interrogation techniques :scared1: Hopefully, he'll answer my email shortly about a rental for my upcoming trip :goodvibes
