If we rent a cart and want to catch a bus at say the settlement depot. Are there parking spots to leave the cart all day while we are at the park?

Yepper! Directly across from where you catch the buses. Plug it in and take the key.:thumbsup2

I posted this photo on another thread, but this is a photo of the golf cart parking lot that is within steps of the Settlement bus stop (it has been recently expanded):

There is a similar sized area to park carts at the Outpost, and maybe even more spaces down by the boat launch. And, there are also a ton of spaces adjacent to Trails' End/Hoop De Do.

There are spaces with electric outlets at each of these places (except for at the Outpost), but not enough for everyone. If we are going to be at the parks all day, we would have charged our cart all night, and there really would not be a need to have the cart plugged in all day. The newer cart have battery meters in case you are worried.

So, you will have plenty of choices for parking the old cart.

:scared1: I've never seen the lot empty ! When did you take that picture...when FW was closed ? :lmao:

This may be somewhat off topic, but what would you suggest we do if, for example, we park the GC by the marina in the AM to go to MK, then we decide to park hop to AK, then return to FW from there.

If I understand the busses correctly, We would be at the opposite end of FW. Do we send someone to get the cart and pick the rest of us up?

How do you experts handle that? Or do you just avoid getting into that situation to begin with?

You would then catch an internal FW bus to the settlement trading post and get your cart.:thumbsup2

That's the new expanded lot, not one of the old one's. My guess would be most people are still parking in the old lots, and it will take a while for people to get accustomed to parking in the new lot. Plus, it will mainly only be bus riders, unless there is an overflow from the Settlement/Pioneer Hall parking lots. Although, even on the busiest days I've found a spot with the added Pioneer Hall parking, so there should be no worries :)

If I am recalling correctly, I think that it was late afternoon on Saturday, August 4, 2007. I agree that it is rare to see this lot so empty, but there were men there working on it over the weekend, and maybe it was closed off in the morning or something. In any event, this particular lot always seems to be the least busy. I am not sure if everyone knows it is OK to drive a cart down there, as there are Do Not Enter signs posted on the roadways- but these are for cars not the carts.

This is all part of the fun of having a cart. In your particular example, I would probably take the boat back from the MK and then drive the cart up to the Outpost and park it there, then hop on the AK bus. This might give you a chance to stop by the campsite/cabin for a snack or drink, too. If you plan this right, it is a great way to eat a meal at the campsite/cabin while transitioning to another park. BTW- if I were you, and wanted to park hop between MK and AK, I would do AK first. It gets hot and crowded there in the afternoon!

Actually, you've got it right. Our first full day, we plan on doing am EMH at AK, then ending up at MK for dinner, spectro, wishes. Maybe moving the cart is a good excuse for a midday break!

OK- That plan gets the TCD seal of approval! EMH @ AK is great. We take full advantage of the EMH's at the parks. We hit the appropriate park early, ride the rides while there are no lines, pick up FP's (which will usually have a very quick return time early in the morning), and then clear out when the park starts to get too busy. We then will generally go back to the Fort for a break, and either return to the park we left, to use up any FP's, or go to a totally different park later in the day. Being able to take a mid-day break at the Fort is priceless!

As everyone knows, I'm no kind of rules stickler, but don't they kind of frown about parking carts outside of the parking areas? I guess some places it doesn't really matter, but if you're pulling up into the trees? lol ;)

LOL Who me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im the same way I dont break the rules I just kinda bend them!!!! Just a little, harmless fun

lol, like I said, I don't really care at all, I just could imagine all of a sudden tons of people pulling into the trees to park everywhere. I've never seen a golf cart parked in the places like you had in your pictures, it was more curiosity on my part than anything :)
