Howdy!

My family and I are headed to Ft. Wilderness Cabins next month (woot) and I just booked a golf cart for our stay.

The kids would get a kick out of decorating it and I was wondering if any parts of the carts were magnetic?

Do you think painters tape would be safe to use? If not, any suggestions?

And which loop should I request... I suppose we dont want to be close to anything since we have the golf cart... we want to be as far away as we can be from things hahahahaha

Is the Pool Open? I know it was going under a major rehab? Anyone have a link to pics? I wont swim unless it's 90 out, but the kids would...

Once your ON the boat to the Contemporary how long does it take to get there?

What is the kitchen stocked with?? How clean are the Grills? and does each cabin have their own grill?

Very very excited to explore the Fort!!!

off to do more reading!! Thanks for your help!! :dance3:

You could prob use painters tape, but good old high quality scotch tape would do the trick. Not only holding on but coming off when needed. FYI instead of laying the end of the tape all the way down, fold back the tape onto itself creating a tab. Then just pull to remove.

Loop request personal pref. we stayed in 1000 or 1100 and i was walking distance to the pool. we also stayed up by the marina nice to walk to the beach. Either place with a cart you are going to drive.

Boat ride is 15-20 minutes, unless you are comideered by pirates. pirate:

Not sure what type of decorations, but for streamers and lights I use zip ties.

Unfortunately, it is not magnetic.

As far as the boat ride to the Contemporary, each leg is about a 10 minute ride. In the morning, it will stop at WL first. In the afternoon, it will stop at the Contemporary first.

We have been renting carts every year except our first and we have stayed in the Cedar Circle area for years. Its away from everything except the Wilderness Pool. We like this area because its quiet. The carts make it very easy to go back and forth as you please without waiting for buses. You also see alot more nature wise around and its fun to tour the other areas to see decorations, rv's and campsites.
As stated they are not metal so try the ties and tape.
Have Fun!

As for the kitchens they are stocked with all basic utensils for cooking, place settings for six. We have never had to bring anything extra or ask, but you will use your dishwasher atleast once a day if you cook more than one meal in the cabin.
Each Cabin has a grill either on the deck or patio, they are clean and are checked every day and cleaned out of you use it
Boat ride to Contemporary usually 10mins and 15 to Magic Kingdom. The longest you will have to wait for a boat at the marina is about 25 mins and thats only if you just missed one and its in the middle of day. If you are going to just the Contemporary there are two boats so short wait

Good to know that it will stop at CR first in the evening... we have dinner plans at O'hana's so we will take the golf cart (giggle) to the boat, boat to CR and the Monorail to the Poly, an hour is a good measure...

Where can I find battery powered christmas lights.... Suppose I could google that... haha!!

Thanks everyone for helping me out!!

I use Command adhesive hooks to hold decorations to the cart. They work great and come off cleanly. I would worry about other types of tape getting gummy in the sun and rain.

Wally World has small battery powered (2-AA) Christmas lights, but all the Christmas stuff is gone from our store. Does anyone know if FW frowns on putting a small inverter on two of the batteries on the rented carts? How about Kenny? I've got new batteries in my cart and I will definitely have an arrary of lights next Christmas.:banana:
