DH was up at some silly hour this morning off to play golf, are any of you committed to your sport in this way?

Do you travel far to see your favourite team? Do you never miss a game or match? Do you go out in all weather??

PS my sport is shopping :teeth:

If shopping is a sport then yes I will travel long distances and get up early for it :p

Otherwise, no!

DH and I are both ardent Notts County supporters. We are season ticket holders so attend all home matches, even cup matches. we go to some away games as well. The only time we miss home amtches are for holidays (or DIS meets!)

The furthest we have ever travelled to an away game is Brighton. We must be mad!!!

Verity.

Come on you pies.

I had a wheelbarrow, the wheel fell off.

I'm football mad! we (dw) go to lots of away matchs inc.grimsby,on a wet tue night, reading , stoke, huddersfield, burnley, chelsea, man city, palace, tranmere, york, to name a few.

mind you, one of my worst decisions was to get sky tv.I had visions of watching football every night but I can never get on because my dw is always watching living, or home and leisure .oh well you cant win them all !

You mean she is not watching the Disney Channel:confused:

You both certainly love your footie :)

I'm a cricket widow;) Yep, even in the winter- it's indoor league then:rolleyes: Still, with indoor league I don't have to do the teas:tongue:

But I fear when his body finally gives up the battle, DH will venture into golf. Oh dear.

My passion is motor racing - don't do it, but watch it:D Apart from shopping and planning holidays of course :Pinkbounc

Hi.

I go to Archery on sunday mornings for a couple of hours. As I work the night shift, its about the only time I can do anything like that.

Amber (eldest DD) plays Hockey after school and also does Tae Kwon-do.

I may be worse than your husband Kaylee. I try & play golf once a week & that normally means leaving the house by 7.00/7.30 am & at weekends I can often be found travelling from my home in North Shropshire to Southampton to watch the glorious Saints in action. Well actually there is very little glory. In the summer I play cricket on a saturday. You guys must think my wife has a hard time, but she goes riding at least once a week.
I have said to Deborah my wife that when the boys get a bit older they can come to golf, cricket & football. She will then have oodles of time.
Now I have written this I have started to feel a bit guilty!
Honestly its not as bad as it sounds. I will make sure I take her for a decent meal before taking her to see The Corrs on Friday- see I aint that bad!

Ah ha!

I always tell DW that she should think herself lucky ;)

I just hope she read Shropshire Saints post :teeth:

Methinks DW forgot about the footie. Watching and playing.

Having retired from football a couple of years ago, I found that I missed it too much and have returned. This time the veterans side I have played for, for the last 8 years have entered a league locally. I had forgotten how much fun it can be playing on a cold wet day, with 8 of the regulars missing, and up against a team of 18 - 22 year olds, who are faster, fitter, more athletic generally and don't need a 10 minute breather between sprints!

We reckon we have a total combined age of about 450 years if the youngsters play. I should point out that at 44 I am one of the younger players.

Oops, there goes another hamstring.....

I used to be a football widow. DH was a referee and generally had matches on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Still I got do my riding on Sundays so we were both happy with the arrangements. Now however with two children it’s all about them. Between swimming lessons, drama class, ballet class and karate training we hardly find time to breathe at the weekends and now Mollie is at senior school she has taken to wanting to go to ‘shopping’ lessons with her friends on Saturday afternoons:eek:

All I can say is enjoy all that free time while you can Kaylee ;)

He would and has been known to go anywhere and to any lengths to watch his beloved Arsenal :teeth:
