I'm just planning our 1st DL trip in Oct. I have been looking at the food reviews and pics and have not seen much of anything about the Golden Horseshoe. Does anyone have pics or comments about this place?:confused3

Its a place to go for the Entertainment (Billy Hill and the Hillbillies) more than just for food. They have Chicken Tenders & Fries, Fried Mozerella, etc. Check allears.net for menu items. You can also bring in food from other places or don't have to eat at all...or just drinks and dessert. It's a fun stage show and that is where the appeal is.

We stumbled into it sort of by accident the first time and really enjoyed the atmosphere and the chance to just rest a bit inside. It's been a while since the last time we ate there and I think they may have changed some menu items, so I can't really comment on the food, but I have seen pictures of the Chocolate Mile High cake and it looks YUM!

We love the Golden Horseshoe. In addition to the menu items previously mentioned, I recently had the fish and chips and it was really good. It's a load of fun during the show also. Here's a few pictures to give you an idea.

We try to take in the show and eat a bite at the Golden Horseshoe. The show is hilarious and a must see for some good laughs. :rotfl2: The food is the typical fried stuff, but it is edible. The portions last Oct. were still large and we split meals between several of us.

The sundaes are really big and the lines are shorter than at the Gibson Girl generally. Also the fish & chips was pretty good - and big enough to split ( 2 orders fed 3 easily)
And Billy Hill shouldn't be missed! They're a very talented and funny group.

Great photos btw!

Thanks sooo much for the pictures and information. My DD age 6 lives on chicken strips so I hope she will like it.

On the days when the Billys aren't there, the Laughing Stock Co. will occupy the space. I saw them take an audience member & act out a play that was like Cinderella. It was hilarious, especially w/ Sally Mae!

I'm so excited to see DL still has the Golden Horseshoe. :cheer2: It sounds like WDW's Diamond Horseshoe Revue, which is now defunct. I was sad to see it close. :( Hopefully, we'll be able to work in a lunch there. I know we don't have to eat, but eating during the show would be like a blast from the past.

Excuse me? I think you might be confused about him being your boyfriend!!!

Sorry, I felt obliged to claim him as my own until you decided to visit the thread. Of course, now that you're here, he's OUR boyfriend. ;) Always willing to share with you, Tina! :flower3:

I was just checking the menu online, and it says they serve a Mint Chocolate Chip Sundae. Really? That is my dad's favorite kind of ice cream. I'll have to take him there next trip....

They have a mint sundae at Gibson Girl on Main Street too. Haagen Daz in DTD also has very good mint chocolate chip ice cream. Can you tell we like mint chocolate chip ice cream?!

When my DH and I took a solo trip to DL in Jan 2008 (DD's stayed with grandparents for the day), we were selected to sit in the VIP booth at the front right of the theater where Walt used to sit! It was incredibly special. DH and I both laughed so hard we were actually crying. Tina and DangerMouse's DBF actually came up to do a special violin solo just for us. Sorry girls! :rolleyes1

It's a really special memory. And, know what? We forgot the camera that day! :headache:

We brought food in from the outside. We went to the first show so the line for food got real long real fast. We settled DD and DMIL at a table up front and DH went to the stage door for fish and chips for DMIL and chiken and fries for DD. I went to Rancho del Zachalo for enchiladas and veggies as DH didn't want fried stuff. It worked well and we were actually eating before the folks who were in front of us got their food!

My youngest DD saw Billy for the first time on our trip 2 weeks ago. She loved the "you don't see this on a postcard...welcome to Disneyland!" with Billy and the bow stuck in his nose. I wish I had gotten a picture. DD repeated that many times during the rest of our trip!:rotfl:
