woohoo!!!...1st place in chorus and 2nd place in band and we won the Spirit of Myrtle Beach Award (best school spirit at the festival) at the Heritage Festival in Myrtle Beach, SC. Im so excited, i cant even find words to describe how i feel. When we arrived back into my town....we started to get closer to the fire station and our music director said there was an accident and that we had to turn around and go back on the highway and take the next exit....so we all get up and then realize that there were firetrucks and tons and tons and tons of people from my town there cheering and waving and holding green and white balloons which is my school colors. Then our coach bus followed 3 firetrucks and an ambulance to our high school and there was 40 or so cars behind the bus with balloons tied to there antennas cheering and waving out their windows and blowing there horns. People lined the streets and cheered. When we got to the high school, on our school sign there was a big banner that said welcome home and congratulations and along the street to my high school there were signs saying chorus #1...we are proud of you...RHS is the best...and when we go to the school parking lot there were even more people there cheering, it just about brought tears to my eyes..i didnt even think our town was going to do this...it was amazing...just wanted to share it with everyone!!..im so excited!!!! :thewave: :thewave:

Awesome that has always been a dream of mine... to come home and know that your whole town is behind your accomplishment! My town pays more attention toward athletic achievments rather than band and choir. way to go and Congrats!

Congrats!!!!! my school is big on sports tho, we wouldnt have a big thing like that if someone won something like that, e might have an anouncement but thats about it. but if someone won at the championships then we would prolly get like a day off from school. well congrats!!!!!
