Here is my trip report. We spent 6 nights in WDW Aug 10-16.
Cast of characters: Me 25, DH2B Dan 23
Day 1
We left for the airport at 5am for our 6:50 flight out of Philly. We printed out boarding passes at home and had planned on using curbside check-in, however it was too early for curbside. The self check-in kiosk was fine and we quickly had our luggage checked. The lines for security were almost nonexistent. They did make us take off our shoes. We ended up down at the gate around 5:40. The flight was overbooked and USAir was offering first class seats on the next flight and free roundtrip airfare. We were tempted to take this but we werent sure what would happen to the town car we had booked. We should have taken it since the flight home wasnt overbooked like we had hoped. I did get to see scanne waiting for the flight with her family. The flight itself was fine, just a little turbulence. We were some of the first people off the plane and had to wait about 5 minutes for HappyLimo to show up. That wasnt a problem considering we waited about a half hour for our luggage to come out. Our driver wasnt the safest driver; she ran red light, exceeded the speed limit and drove in the wrong entrance to POR. Oh well, we got there safe and sound anyway.
At POR it was hard for us to get someone to take our luggage to hold until we got our room. I guess they were busy. Our room wasnt ready when we got there but the CM told us it was a first floor king bed in Parterre Place. It ended up being room 9536, corner room right by the bridge over to the main building.
The first thing we did was to get our free lanyard and pins and pick up a pal mickey then head over to MK. We waited about 20 minutes for a bus and arrived at MK at 11.30. Before lunch at 1:30 we were able to ride Alien Encounter, TTA, Buzz (with FP) and the Haunted Mansion.
Lunch was at LTT with Michael as our server. I had the Declaration Salad, Pot Roast, and Caramel Apple Tart. Dan had the Cheese Sticks, Chicken Sandwich, and Chocolate Declaration Cake. He wished he had gotten the pot roast. He loved the cake though. We spent about $60 including tax and tip.
After lunch we went on POC, Jungle Cruise (the shortest wait I have ever had on that ride 5mins) and Pooh (with FP). We left the park around 4 to head over to FW by boat to take out some water mice before the marina closed at 6. We each took out a water mouse for about a half hour and then we took out a Pontoon boat (Dan drove). That was about $60 as well.
Dinner was the Hoop Dee Doo at 7:15. We had lots of time to kill before the show so we got drinks at Crocketts Tavern and played in the arcade and walked around the trading post. While waiting to get in I saw another DISer (Mickeyfan??). Im so bad at remembering names, etc. The seats were great, table 13, right up front against the stage, center of the room. For those of you who have seen the show when Claire does the hokey pokey, she was shaking her leg at Dan. The show is hilarious no matter how many times I see it. Dan was not really impressed. He found it hard to eat and watch what was going on at the same time. The ribs were tough but the chicken was fine. We also asked for mac and cheese and fries which were very good.
We went back to the MK by boat and took a bus back to POR and checked into our room.
