Anyone have an idea of how much room is taken up when you add the rear basket to a maxima scooter? And if you can take it on/off? Pictures would help too.

We've rented the rear bag from Buena Vista in the past, and we would take it off when getting on the bus so my DF could maneuver it into place easier, but are considering Gold for this next trip as they'll be cheaper and can meet us at a better time.

I've always rented the Go-Go, and the basket was a welcome addition, and never a hindrance. But on my last stay, I switched to the Pride Victory on the second day (long story). What a difference with the basket on that! I got stuck in place on the bus, because the driver didn't have me remove the basket. On the next bus, I knew to suggest removing the basket, but then it took time to put the basket back on. And when I took the scooter up to my room, I took the basket off again. Otherwise it would have been a very tight fit (I'd learned that in the morning). Frankly, the front basket was bigger on the Victory, so I didn't really need that rear basket anyways, so after that it stayed in my room. But yes, it can be easily removed. I just wouldn't recommend it-and I can't believe I actually said that-from a former rear basket lover.

We've gotten pretty good at removing the bag on the BV scooter, and there's 6 of us for most of the trip, so one of us is normally on top of it. Do you have a picture of the basket on the scooter, or do they not use the same across all the scooters?

You can BARELY get a Vic10 in one of those elevators, let alone a Maxima.
The Maxima fits fine in the elevators, did you know they are pretty much the same length and width?

But the basket is a different story.
