Gold A.P. Question (when expires)

I'm considering purchasing 4 Gold A.P.'s for family trip in Summer 2020. Idea is to use the passes again the Summer of 2021, instead of purchasing 4 3/4-day tickets each Summer. Makes sense for a variety of reasons.... My question is when will they actually expire, if we use for the first time on July 3, 2020. Planning on going early July in 2020 and late June in 2021. Just want to double-check with everyone before I make a nearly $3,000 purchase. Wife is a teacher and can only travel in Summers. TIA!

Exactly one year later so to get 2 trips on one pass, you have to schedule the trips 51 weeks apart.

This is what we did. We activated our AP on October 5 at Epcot. We usually go to WDW every October but we are going to go in September next year to make use of our passes before they expire on October 5, 2020.
