Hi everyone,

We are supposed to be going to Orlando on 9/15 and have a rental car. Will we have a problem getting gas for the car? Here in the Northeast, the news makes it sound like you can forget about getting any gas in Florida.

Thanks.

this might be one time when the "pre payment" plan for gas might make sense

no worry about having to find gas at the end of your rental ( although it is hard to return a car "empty" )

it seems the gas problem is more severe along the coastal areas also

I was at WDW for Hurricane Charlie and gas was a definite problem off-site. Many stations were closed or had long lines with limits on the gas you could buy. The Hess stations on Disney property always had gas but at times there were long lines to buy it.

And anywhere the electric power is out, so is the gas--no matter how much they have in stock.

Ditto. The lines at the Hess were reasonable by Monday afternoon after Charley. I was pretty much running on fumes by then. Very lucky or I doubt I would have made it back to the airport.
