Hi. I noticed other posts about bringing food into DLP so I want to just make sure I understand a few things.

1. We plan on bringing our own stroller. Any issues with bringing your own stroller into the park or on the bus?

2. With a young child, I need to bring all the parenting essentials and snacks. Any issues bringing food items, water bottles, sippy cups?

3. My son only drinks milk. I wouldn't think it would be a problem, but do all restaurants (fast food too) serve milk that I can put into a sippy cup - or maybe I can get him to drink out of a straw by then? Again, I don't want to be surprised once I get there.

Thank you!!

Hi!

Lots of people seemed to have there own and the park ones you could hire didn't look very comfortable to me.

I wouldn't see any problem. We carried bottles of drink and snacks into the park each day and even at bag check we were never challenged about it.

This might be a little more tricky for you. I don't remember it being in all the menus that the kids could have milk although my DD had milk at least twice. We didn't ask other times though.
The shop at Sequoia sold little milk cartons so you should be able to get some at the hotel. Also at the breakfast buffet we just filled my DD's glass from the milk for cereal so you could fill your sons bottle at breakfast.

When are you going? If its during warmer months it might be worth getting an insulated bottle bag to help keep the milk cool in the park.

Taking your own buggy is fine but do remember to take a chain and padlock to keep it safe whilst you are on rides, they have been known to go missing otherwise.

We always take drinks and snacks in with us for the children, never had any problems with doing this.

Milk maybe a problem when you are in the parks, you can however buy it from the garage which is near Santa fe hotel and store it in the mini bar in your room if necessary. You may struggle to get it from the resturants onsite.

Hope you have a lovely time.

We alwalys take our pushchair as the park ones are very basic! Also always brought food and drinks into the parks with no problem: the bag search people really don't care what's in your bag as long as it's not alcohol (or a weapon of course!).
You can get milk in the restaurants but from time-to-time we did encounter problems with them running out of it. As has been previously mentioned, the petrol station is a godsend!

Wow I'm glad I asked the milk question now!! :thumbsup2

This will pose a bit of a problem for my son but I'll look into an insulated thermos and that should help.

Thanks everyone!!!!!! :flower3:

First time DLP for me and hubby. First time Disney ever for our son :woohoo:

Yes we took our own stroller in October and had no problems with it, lots of people take their own as the ones there don't look very comfortable and don't recline. We did take a bike chain with us but never used it, everyone leaves their buggies at the entrance to rides and as long as you don't leave any valuables with it, it will be fine.

Not sure about the milk, we stayed at the Cheyenne and they did sell small bottles of milk in the shop there, but not sure about the restaurants. We also took a few snacks for my son in our bag and there wasn't any problems, they only look in your bag very briefly so you will be fine.

Another who took a chain. Used it once and left it in the hotel room the rest of the time.

As others have stated milk might be the only issue. You could fill the cup up at breakfast in your hotel :)

I seem to remember being able to choose milk for my DD to drink in the restaurants we ate in. Mind you, that was about 4 years ago now, so the memories are hazy!!

There is also a newsagent type shop in the station which certainly sells bottles of water, and might sell milk as well - it's a convenient place to call into whether you're walking back to your hotel or taking the bus. :)

That's jogged the memory cells :) The garage beside Santa Fe definitely sells milk :thumbsup2

we were able to buy cartons of milk in the shop in the Disneyland hotel - however it was UHT milk and DD hated it. We even had bother trying to get her to eat her cereal with it on, tho i didn't notice much of a difference. we also brought our own buggy and it was a great job. we were able to leave it (abandon it in some cases!!) safely at all the rides and even left our coats and on a couple of occasions items we'd bought as souvenirs.

we bought milk from the DLH shop, the cheyenne shop and also the garage by the santa fe ,they had either large cartons or little cartons with a straw but it is all uht milk in france ,i guess the advantadge being if you buy the small cartons with straw they are ok until opened- i`m assuming its the same as long life milk and doesn`t have to be refridgerated until opened?!

I'm an American living in Switzerland so UHT milk is now common for us. Most others may not know that though so it's a great point to bring up. We adjusted to UHT very easily but I'm sure for some, it is a bit of a different taste and slightly creamier/thicker.

So excited for our holiday!!!! Thanks everyone for all your help!!!

First time DLP for me and hubby. First every Disney trip for our son :woohoo:

At the supermarket (Auchan) you shold be able to get Lait Frais - normal ordinary pasteurised milk, but generally it is indeed UHT pretty much anywhere in France.
I hate the taste - even on cereal, so some of our trip to France is always spent finding "proper" milk. The fresh milk tends to come in white plastic bottles, so spotting it can be a bit tricky too... If anyone knows anywhere else to get fresh milk - please let us know....

As for the milk, when I was little I had the same problem, and I have pictures from a lot of the restaurants drinking little cartons of milk we were able to buy there. I remember Toad Hall and Chalet de la Marionette being the most reliable, but this really was about 14 years ago, so whether this is still the case i'm not sure!

I hope you can manage to get around this!

I'd just fill up his cup and a few more cups and bottles at breakfast like someone mentioned!!!!:confused3 why not it's the same stuff you will be buying in the shops probably, and no one will bother.
