My kids are over 18 and i am taking my 2 year old nephew...any suggestions?

I don't know what you want suggestions on exactly but I took my 20month old in March and it was a very different trip. We had to go a lot slower than DH and I are used to which was fine, just not what we expected. She loved the parades, loved watching all the people, loved the shows for little people. Hated the dark loud rides, didn't want to be too close to characters. We also packed snacks and drinks to bring into the park for when she got cranky standing in lines. Hope that helps. Have fun.

sorry, basically in regards to the parks and the neat things to do. Like I am going to do the mr. potato head thing. bring a hard cover book (with disney characters) to our goofy's kitchen dinner. Any other unique ideas like that?

A 2 yo can get overwhelmed easily... I have one.

Bring a few books(they can't read so they finish them fast!), bring a coloring book & colors/or Color Wonder by Crayola (they make them in Disney characters, visit the Crayola aisle at Target/WalMart)

.....I bring snacks in case he won't eat what is available & gets hungry later (cereal bars & raisins work for us).

Stopping in the middle for naps may be necessary or at least wind down time. You can't expect a 2 yo to stand in line after line with no down time.

Extra pullups/diapers/underwear - potty trained or not, accidents can happen. LOTS of wipes! These work for poo, dirt, messy food fingers .... wipes are great for everything, even removing makeup. :)

Even if they are done with the stroller, they may welcome one after walking a long time. My son hates his, but he always is ok with it when he gets tired (like trick or treating tonight).

Don't push the characters, they are big & can be scary. Looking at them from afar is sometimes good enough, depending on the child.

Be aware of rides where there is a lot of screaming, this can scare the little ones.

I tried to think of every 2 yo tidbit I could think of, hope those tips help.

I just got back with DS (2) :sulley: . Before we left I got him his own backpack (from Disney Shopping) which was great. I filled it with the color wonder markers, snacks (he especially loved the mickey shaped cheese crackers you can get in the park), diapers, wet wipes, a sippy cup, a change of clothes, a jacket, and one of the light up toys. We always had had what we needed, and it was enough to keep him entertained.

One of the highlights was that it was a Buzz backpack, and he got to have Buzz sign it (very cool for a two year old!).

Have fun!

Beware of the self-flushing toilets! Scares DS2 every time.

I second the extra set of clothes. Shirts get spills or (heaven forbid) urped on, pants/shorts get potty accidents.

There was enough to see and do in the park that DS2 didn't need any entertainment from home, but we did get Mr. Potato Head parts early in our stay so he could play with them in the room. We were actually in the room only for naps or just before bedtime, so they didn't play much...but they could have. ;)

Don't shy away from things you think might be too much for him, just take them slow and see how he does. I was surprised at DS2's willingness for just about anything. He ran right into Goofy's arms our first day there, but was shy at first with Minnie at the character dinner a few days later. As long as Daddy was with him, he had no trouble going up to the characters, and was so excited to get his picture taken with them and get their autograph! He also had no trouble on dark rides, even Pirates, which I hadn't been planning to take him on. He loved, loved, loved the Winnie the Pooh ride, went on it more than 12 times!

Great ideas...I also have taken 2 year olds to the park and I'd really suggest just going by their personalities as to which rides will be ok. Our kids seem to be pretty adventurous and have even gone on Haunted Mansion. They also seem to do better with the "face" characters than the costumed ones (Captain Hook has freaked out all of them--he's costumed). Bringing some sort of snack where you can give them one at a time (cheerios, m&m's) works good for "show" type attractions...keeps their attention...but then again, my 2 year old DD LOVED the stage Beauty and Beast show at MGM and didn't need any distractions...You can also find quiet places to have a snack and just relax for a minute. This seems to boost their energy. Oh, and Tom Sawyer's!!! If it's open, that's a lot of fun for little guys...

Oh and Alex2k's....I live in Woodinville! :D Wasn't trick or treating FREEZING last night??? Brrrr.....better than the rain though...
