Going to Ontario for Vacation could use your help please

Hello,

I am one of your neighbors from the south in NH. We are planning a vacation in th Georgian Bay area for the end of July and I would like to know what you all think of Canada's Wonderland. We are going with two Teenagers.

Also planning on doing the scenic caves, a dinner sunset cruise on the bay, some horseback riding and taking a day trip to Niagara Falls. What do you think? Have I missed a must see for the area keeping in mind the two teenagers?

I often frequent the scrapbook board, flower and garden and all others when planning a trip to everyone on these boards favorite place.

Hi,
Your teens will love Canada's Wonderland. It has some great roller coasters as well as many other rides. There is also a waterpark inside Wonderland, and you could practically spend a whole day just in the waterpark. Of course, like any amusement park, expect really long lines. No offense to anyone in the Collingwood area, but I would skip the Scenic Caves. They are nothing like the caves in Kentucky or Pennsylvania etc. I think they are a huge waste of money. Someone else may give you a different opinion though.
If you are planning a trip to Niagara Falls, check out www.niagaraparks.com for lots of great info. There is a "People Mover" bus that takes you to many of the attractions. You can buy a pass that includes all day transportation as well as admission to several of the attractions. You get on and off the bus at your own leisure, so you can spend as much time as you want at each place. Definitely the way to go, even if you have your car. If you only have time to do one attraction, I would recommend the Maid of the Mist boat ride. It takes you right to the foot of the falls - very cool.
If you happen to be in downtown Toronto, check out the CN Tower. Also, The Lion King is on stage there. A new block of tickets for summer performances go on sale this Monday March 17th at www.mirvish.com We've been once and are going back in two short weeks. It is an absolutely amazing broadway show as I'm sure you've heard before.

If you are shoppers you most DEFINATELY have to check out the Eaton Centre. It is a HUGH mall, with tunz of stores. have a great time here in Ontario!

Hi, we are visiting Toronto for our holiday (vacation) in August and are planning on spending 3 days in the Niagra Falls area but are unsure if there will be enough for us to do, as we are not ones for sitting around for hours dwelling on life, we have two boys ages 11 and 7 and are hoping that there are some attractions that will interest them, I seem to remember a wax works - but it was some 20+ years ago that I visited the falls. any information will certainly be appreciated.

Tussauds Wax Museum is no longer there. They tore it down and put up a Rain Forest Cafe in its place. There are plenty of things to do in Niagara Falls. Check out www.niagaraparks.com for some attraction info. Don't miss the Maid of the Mist boat tour. There's also the Imax theatre, lots of attractions on Clifton Hill that kids like (such as Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum). There's a factory outlet mall on Lundy's Lane with Nike, Tommy, Reebok, and a number of other brand name outlets. About twenty minutes from Niagara is the city of St Catharines where the Welland Canal is located. You can go to lock 3 and see the freighters as they go through the locks. Niagara-on-the-Lake is also a short drive from Niagara Falls. It's a very pretty little town full of boutiques. Hope you have a great time!

Thank you so much for that information, it was about 1978/9 when I visited on a school trip, so am not surprised thatt he wax works is no longer there, still the boys will have a great time and get to eat in a Rainforest Cafe, they love the one at animal kingdom. I like the sound of the factory outlet, we always take an extra suitcase when we go to WDW to fill with all our purchases in particular sportswear, trainers etc. which are so expensive here in the UK. I have managed this week to book a victorian town house in Toronto for us to stay in as self catering is so much easier with our youngest as he is so fussy and has a mild peanut allergy, August can't come quick enough for me!!!!!

For the adults-there's always a night out at Casino Niagara. Great live theatre at Niagara on the Lake as well as tons in downtown Toronto. Catch a Jays game at Skydome if you have a chance and are into sports.

Thanks everyone for the PM's and suggestions on the boards. I do appreciate it. My DH is now worried about the deadly flu but, I said we are going any way. I refuse to be held captive by the war and the deadly flu.

If anyone also has suggestions for places to eat those would also be appreciated.
