we are heading to mb in august and we usually get a condo for the week, but we are only doing a weekend and we are looking for a nice family place to stay in southern mb oceanfront. we usually stay in either murrells inlet or pawleys island so any help would be great!!

Hi! I just came back from a trip to Myrtle Beach in October. We stayed in a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom condo called Camelot by the Sea. It was oceanfront, family friendly, they had an indoor pool, but their idea of indoor was not closed in on the front, but the other sides were closed in, but the pool was heated, and they have a lazy river too (indoor). It was in Myrtle Beach, but not considered the main drag or was not a busy area. Hope this helps a little! I can't remember their website, but I googled Camelot By the Sea and pulled them up! Enjoy your trip!! :goodvibes :yay:

My BF and I were down there recently and LOVED the Coral Beach resort in Myrtle Beach! The rooms were big and bright, the facilities were clean and they had everything we needed onsite so we could make the most of our trip.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll have a great time.

A lot of the hotel pools are "swim in", like this and they put giant glass windowlike walls in late Oct. or so(but this year they should have done it earlier as it got cold quick), to close off the outer side.Camelot looks nice , we have passed it. We stay at Monterey Bay, ocean view suite. You get a suite with 2 tvs and kitchen, full hot breakfast included.:thumbsup2 MontereyBaySuites.com

In northern spot, Dunes Village is incredible. I think it was rated one of the best family places by several magazines. We had an amazing time...it is a bit secluded so you need a car but we LOVED it.

thanks for the info, i was actually checking this resort out...any suggestions as to what kind of suite? there will be 4 adults and 2 children. thanks

We get the side ocean view view(saves about 10 or so daily, and you can see all down the beach, you just aren't directly on it.We usually choose units C. We also have had the one w/ 2 balconies and you have one that you see the ocean, and one down the street. Be sure and click 30 percent off as you choose dates. We get 2 queen beds, and there is a murphy bed in the liv. room . Full size aplliances in kitchen, but no dishwasher. The only thing i don't like is the blankets are scratchy ,like they desperatly need fabric softener. The units really look like in the pics. There is this sweet old guy,Ray(?), that sometimes sings during breakfast. The juice/toast/cereal is help yourself, as are the waffles. The hot stuff (usually home friesand eggs and they rotate meats, etc),they dish out,but you can get seconds. It is about the same quality as Shoneys buffet. We pick there because a lot of the places have an outdoor lazy river, theirs is inside. And it is sort of between main and North area, so convenient, but not jammed. To the right is one hotel, then houses for quite a ways.

I don't know of anywhere on the southern end....except we stay at Pirateland every Labor Day weekend :thumbsup2 Other than that we stay at Ocean Creek Resort. It's right on the border of North Myrtle across from Barefoot Landing. It's very quiet, very family oriented and the beach are is amazing. The ocean wraps around an inlet to form a natural creek area. The kids love to play in there away from the waves.

We always stay at Beach Cove, but it is N. Myrtle! Though we really like the location!:rotfl:

I also say Dunes Village. We stayed there last year and my kids LOVED it!!! There indoor waterpark is the best when they want to take a break from the beach/sun!!

We always stay of Captian Quaters, kids love thier pool for them. They are very kid friendly and they are on the beach.

and LOVED it. Right on the beach with a ton of little pools and 2 lazy rivers which my boys loved. We stayed in the schooner building in a regular room. The upper floors are nice (only 4 floors). They also have a bulding with bigger rooms with kitchens etc.

We are planning to stay there again in September for a weekend we loved it so much.
