Going to Las Vegas

The Boardwalk hotel is well placed on the strip, and I don't think it's as pricey as the others. It used to be the Holiday Inn. We love the buffets out there, that was our main event, since neither of us are gamblers. Hoover Dam was also our day trip out, and we went on a tour that included a tour of the Ethel M's chocolate factory. You'll have a great time!

I don't know about the rooms but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't eat at the Boardwalk's buffet. It is well known as the worst buffet in Vegas. I was actually physically ill after eating there :crazy2:

I forgot to mention that Red Rock is a pretty cool area to go and see. It is gorgeous and you may even be lucky enough to see some wild burros!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I'm checking prices on them all!

Hi CatsRule!! Miss ya!

Shannon....um....no chaperone needed! thanks for the offer though! ;)

Is Circus Circus full of clowns? cause if it is, i'm not going within 100 feet of the place. it has a really good deal, but clowns are my dealbreaker. i dont mind cirque de soleil type clowns, but painted/freaky clowns are out of the picture!!!!

We stayed at the Orleans when we were there about 7 years ago. The rooms were very large and nice. I think it was about $36/night for mid-June. The pool area was beautiful and we had a view of the strip from our room, which was great at night. They have a shuttle to one of their other hotels on the strip, so you had free transportation to and from the strip. I would really look into that hotel!

There's a new resort opening called the Soleil, check it out, rumor has it they are offering a free stay.
Heard it on talk radio the other day, I may check it out myself. Have fun.

The 1st time we went, our TA recommended a place called MAXIM. We knew nothing about Las Vegas at the time, and went with it. It was def. inexpensive, but pretty run down. We swore we would never go there again. The + was it is right off the strip (I think near Ballys) and like I said, inexpensive. If you're looking to stay for the night, and want something convenient, you may want to look into it.

I heard this too. But I think you have to do a tiimeshare presentation to get the "free" stay.

Oh! I shouldn't be surprised. That place was a dive! :rotfl2:

Wait-5 years? Is it possible we went that long ago? It must have closed right after we left!

Seriously though....which singer at the Hilton?

Hi all, i'll be heading to Las Vegas w/ my guy in a few weeks. we'll be there on saturday and sunday and will go up to LA on Monday. I've been looking into hotels in Vegas for sat/sun and they are really expensive on saturday nights!!! Has anyone been to a hotel in Vegas (on or very close to the Strip), that is not pricey? I really wanted to stay at one of the "cool casinos" like the Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, etc. But like i said, they are pricey.

Also, is there anything to do in the area? We would like to take a mini trip perhaps to someplace outside of Vegas. Anything you would recommend?

Thanks!
I will be going for the first time in 2 weeks, when are you going?

I will just miss you, we are going the 16th to the 19th. Have a great trip
