Going to IOA & don't want to get wet

Stay off of Popeye and Dudley Do-Right. Jurassic Park may get you wet. If you want to bring along a poncho just in case, you can ride this one. It is kinda like Splash Mountain in that sometimes you will be completely dry and then sometimes you won't.

What rides do I avoid? Any tips to not getting wet on a ride?:umbrella:
Avoid...Jurassic Park River Adventure, Popeye and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges and Dudley Dooright's Ripsaw Falls. One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish will get you wet some but if you follow the song, you can avoid getting wet,

Goodness that's a lot of water rides. Thank you!

Damo - is Jurassic Park worth the risk? I'll risk it a bit if the ride is good but it sounds like Popeye, Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges and Dudley Dooright's Ripsaw Falls are Nos for me.

Metro West - what do you mean about following the song for One Fish Two Fish? Better dust off my Seuss books!

Jurassic Park is great but you do risk getting wet. I would suggest you watch a few boats come down and then make a decision. The other two rides there is no risk...you will definitely get soaked.

When the ride is going there's a song they play. If you follow the words to the song it will tell you to go up or down saving you from getting wet. It's really a lot of fun.

Oh my gosh that's great and so much fun! I'm so not telling my husband that secret - ha!

If you wear a large poncho on Dudley Do Right, Popeye, and Jurassic Park, tuck it under properly you can avoid getting wet. I've done it.

Don't ride One Fish Two Fish when it is extremely windy. We came off the ride soaked because the water was not spraying where it was supposed to b/c the wind was blowing it.

How did you avoid getting wet on Popeye even with a poncho? I just remember a literal cascade of water and feeling like I was drowning a few times.

Watching Jurassic Park may scare you. It pushes out a HUGE wall of water. However, most of the water goes out, not back. I've ridden it before without getting wet at all.

JP might have wet seats though. I only caught a bit of spray in my face, but my butt was soaked from the seats. If getting wet is at all a problem, I'd avoid JP.

Thanks so much guys! Getting wet isn't an issue other than that I'm going in December and don't want to be wet and cold. Ha!

While reading the 2011 Universal Studios guide book I saw mention family sized blow dryers that costs $5. Does anyone know how well these work?

If it works well I think my family and I will do all the "wet" rides and then get blown dry.

The "human dryer" was outside Dudley Do-Rite and i saw a few people lined up to use it.
