Trying to figure out how best to get to the Settlement area of Fort Wilderness to enjoy a little nature and do a little bird watching. We have a car, so we could try driving to the main entrance, then take the Internal bus up to the Settlement Depot area. But with resort-hopping being cut down on, what are our chances of them letting us park and ride? Alternately, we could take the bus from our resort (OKW) to the MK, then take either the bus or boat directly to the Settlement Bus Depot. My only questions about that is-is the boat that goes to FW running now and if so, can it take my ECV?

The boat from MK to FW is running, and it does accommodate ECVs. Personally, I’d take the bus to MK/boat to FW route instead of driving to FW and having to take the internal bus to The Settlement. I don’t know what the current status is of parking at the front of FW if you don’t have a reservation of some kind.
