This Friday I am going to Epcot with my French I class. I have never been to Epcot, and I am going with a few friends. SO I need HELP, I need a strategy to getting around this park for a first timer. I am going to eat lunch and dinner there too so I need a few good places to eat, I will also be eating snacks so if you know any good places to get a quick snack around the park I want to know! And I finally need to know all the best rides at Epcot that are a must ride and what time to ride them!!!!! THX FOR ALL THE HELP!!!!!

EPCOT is HUGE.... and you will most likely feel overwhelmed that you arent getting to everything! As for the rides/attractions.. You have to go in 'the big ball'! That is Spaceship Earth. Test Track is a must do and the first thing you should do is go there and get a fast past ASAP. Even in January, they run out. So as soon as you get in the park, get a TT fast pass. Mission Space is new.. pretty cool.. a must do for some. Definately go see if they are doing a soft opening for the new attraction Soaring! Ask a CM over there! I would go see Honey I shrunk the Audience. If you only have one day... Then I would maybe stick to the above attractions in Future World... There are so many places to eat AND snack in Epcot. ALmost every country has a counter stand or at least some kind of snack shop. We like to get fish & chips in United Kingdom, the Lotus Blossom is the counter service in China and we eat there every trip. Mexico has a counter service with nachos and tacos etc.. France ( IM sure you will be there with your class) has La Patisserie... yummy desserts! There is a great bakery in Norway too. Ride Maelstrom in Norway if you can. We love it. The American Adventure has a counter service with burgers, fries, etc. You can sit down and see The American Adventure there. A nice way to take a break out of the heat too! Theres a counter service in Morocco. The rest all have sit down restaurants. The electric Umbrella is a counter service back in Future World. I would stick to these places as a sit down at Disney is expensive and will take up too much time. Kill 2 birds with one stone by grabbing some fish and chips and eating them during either the Off Kilter performance in Canada, or THe British Invasion in UK ( they look and sound like the beatles). There is SO much to do and see in Epcot. If you want to see MIckey, then check the times schedule you can pick up at the entrance, or in any store, and find the character caravan. Go there a few minutes before it gets there and run for Mickey when he gets off his bus! LOL Have a great time!!

Let me be the first to give you a big WELCOME. We'll be waiting for you.

Pick up a guide brochure when you enter the park and start walking. The first ride you'll come to is Spaceship Earth. When you come out and into the plaza area with the big dancing waters fountain you may wish to go left through the breezeway to Future World East. There you'll find Test Track and Mission Space - the two most popular rides at Epcot. The breezeway to the right will take you to Future World West.

The countries (World Showcase) open at 11:00AM and you can reach them by going around the dancing waters fountain and straight ahead over the bridge. Start either to the left or right and you'll circle them all. All the countries have a restaurant and all are very good. Snacks are everywhere.

Have fun and enjoy.

THX for the help, do you think there will be a soft opening for Sorin' because that ride is so cool!!!!! I went on it when I went to Disneys California Adventure it is awesome!!!!! I am just wondering because I think my friends would want to ride it!!!!!

Ive read that people have been on it for soft opening already! Thats why I said to definately check it out! I read that the person asked a Cast Member ( who was wearing a blue , flight attendant type suit) if there was a soft opening. Now, I think they had to wait awhile, but there WAS one! I cant wait to get there in November and ride it!!

I hope I can go on it will be so cool because I want to see what they did to it since it came from California Adventure!!!!!

I have another question what do girls like to do because I am like the only guy in our group so I would like to know what teenage girls like to do at Epcot!!!!!

Get to the park when it opens. As soon as you go in, head for the Big Ball, then head left to get to test track. Get a Fast Pass. Then go to Mission Space and see if you can walk on. There are some cool games after you ride.
Then if it's time for your fast pass go to Test Track. Otherwise, if you're energetic head all the way over to the other side of the park, passing through the corrider between the 2 figure 8 buildings (innoventions( and see if Soarin' is open. Depending upon your test track FP, then ride "The Land ride" (if it has reopened). Go next door to the imagination building and ride the Figment ride and see Honey I Shrunk. Always depending upon your Fast track FP, it should be just about time for lunch. If you can afford it, make a ressie for the Coral Reef right when it opens, get there 10 minutes before that, and ask to be seated by the fish. Go to the new turtle talk, and visit the manatees and dolphins upstairs. When you're done with that side, go to the big ball and ride spaceship earth. Then go back to the other side, and do the Dinosaur ride with Ellen Generes. Then you will be pretty much done with Future World, and it will be somewhere around 2-3, depending upon how fast you go.

Go back to the World Showcase, and saunter through, starting with Mexico, unless you'd prefer to start with Canada. Download ahead of time the entertainment schedule, and get a guide when you go in to confirm entertainment. You can see the schedule for Friday here on Steve Soare's site. Unfortunately, Off Kilter, (they're hot Canadians in kilters) aren't performing on Friday.

But the Chinese acrobats, the Japanese candy lady, Morockin, the British Invasion, and the World Showcase players all are performing. In fact, they're so good you may need to rush through world showcase :-0

A good, fun place for a sit-down dinner is the San Angel Inn inside the pyramid.

Ride the boat in Norway. (Slip through the Norway infomercial and leave after the boat ride unless you feel sorry for the CMs.) Get some school bread in Norway for a snack. Look for the garden railway in Germany. Watch the show in America and try to hear the fife and drum corps and the Voices of Liberty.

If you don't want to spend the money for a sit-down dinner, skip Future World counter service and try the excellent counter service in Mexico, Japan Yakitori house, Morrocco or a host of others.

Excellent pastries in France.

We love the movie in France, which is sort of impressionistic. In the movie in China you have to stand up.

Hope this helps. Have fun. :cloud9:

La Patisserie also has food...the BEST cheese I've ever eaten. I ordered a cheese plate which comes with grapes and a baguette. My mom had a turkey sandwich and my son had a ham and cheese quiche. Wonderful reasonable food and FABULOUS coffee and deserts ;) . If you are only going one day you may have to pick between seeing all the science stuff and all the world showcase stuff. If you don't plan on seeing all of the countries, there is a ferry boat that takes you to Morroco, right next to France. Another ferry goes to Germany. If your feet are tired from lots of walking, that may be a good option because it is alot of walking, you may have to wait for the ferry a bit though. We adored Epcot, especially my 10 yr old "scientist" (son). Have tons of fun :goodvibes
