We are going to Disneyland april 9th thru 12. We are going to stay at DH it will be our first time at a resort property and I think it is over priced but I also have always wanted to splurge and do it at least once.

ME DW DD14 DS13 and DS5mths. Does anyone know what rides we can go on with the baby I know not many. Also any helpful advice on going with kids with such a age gap.

I have not been since the opening of CA so what can we expect there.
Also I could go to 5 days with really only about 300 difference in my total cost would that be worth it the last time I went for 3 days and truthfully had done everything there is to do, most of it twice and the was in a June time frame.

We are early risers and I find that with good use of fast pass and leaving the park for several hours in mid day helps the crowds feel much smaller.

Having both Mommy & Daddy on available means that every ride is ok. Use the baby swap method, where everyone waits in line and all but one parent board the ride while the other parent waits with the baby. Then the rider parent returns and holds baby while the other parent rides.

As for rides the baby will like, at that age limited motion is best and not too much loud noise or bright flashes are the other concerns. Probably the Carousel, Storybook Boats, Dumbo, Casey Jr & Small World are ok in Fantasyland. Maybe Alice & Peter Pan if darkness is ok. In the other parts of the DL, Jungle Cruise, Tikibirds & the Steamboar should be fine. In DCA, Hemleich's Choo-choo, Flik's Flyer & Monster's Inc should be fine.

I've lots of experience with little ones at DL and honestly, few rides were ever too inconvenient. I'm totally not advocating which rides you should/shouldn't do -- that's up to you and the temperment of your baby. None of mine seemed to mind the "scary" or "loud" rides, so we did them (even Haunted Mansion; bad mommy, bad mommy ;)).

We liked best Small World, POTC, train ride around the park -- basically the longer, more peaceful rides. Others were good too, but too much on-and-off with a baby and other small ones tires this mumma out.

Like the other poster said: baby swap. It is truly wonderful. :sunny:

Have a great time!!!

When you use baby swap, 2 people can go back on. So you don't have to ride alone!

Thanks I think the baby will be fine with noise and dark and I thank the haunted mansion would not scared him at his age doubt he understand smuch of it.

Thanks I am sure we will have a blast

Hello,
We are in a similar situation as you. We are going to Disneyland next week and have my son and his friend going that are both 14 and then we have our 2 youngest who are 4 and 2 1/2. We plan on letting the two older boys go off on their own in the parks and let them do their own thing. I am going to have them check in with us every couple of hours with a cell phone and meet us for lunches and dinners. That way, we can do our own thing with the two little ones and the two older ones can go off and do the big kid rides.

Just thought I'd give you another suggestion.

I hope you all have a great time!!

We too will be in that situation. We are going in Aug with my DS and DIL, age 21, my DGS, age 18mo at the time, and my DILs brother, 10. We usually stay with family and make day trips to the park, but this year we are staying at GC. The reason is that the days will get long and hot for DGS, so my DH and I will take him to the pool and room for breaks and naps, and let the 3 "big kids" stay out all day if they want, and also go back out after bedtime!

As for rides, there are alot of mild rides in fantasyland and toon town, but I am not sure about what is at CA for toddlers. We have been, but DGS wasn't born yet, so we went on all of the "big people" rides and skipped all of the kiddie stuff then. It seems like there are alot of new attractions, there also! I have been on TOT at WDW, I can skip it with DGS just fine :rotfl2:
