I'm going to Disneyland next week and I'm very excited. What should I expect crowd wise? I also hear that the weather has been very hot. Should I pack shorts?
The weather next week is going to change. It's going to be in the upper 70's until Tues, so shorts will be a good thing to pack, and it will get cooler from Wed on in the upper 60's (I don't know if that's cold to you, but it sure is to me).
I'm sure it will be busy on MLK day, but the other days during the week should be nice. Have fun!
Crowds are relatively light right now since it is the off-season. When we were there the other night, most lines were 15-20 minutes max and many were walk on. There are crowds at Fantasmic! at the end of the night because it's the big entertainment that is taking place right now, but a little planning and that is easy to work around so as to not get frustrated. (I read elsewhere on here that you don't seem too interested in Fantasmic!. I strongly encourage you to re-consider. It's an amazing show.)
Weather... others above have given you good information, except to me it is certainly not shorts weather. But, I'm a So. Cal. resident so I guess that's all relative. The evening's do cool down. For me, to the point of a sweatshirt or a jacket, but again, I guess that's relative. I had gloves the other night toward the end of the night. (yeah, i know.... but that's why we pay so much to live here! hehe)
I'm not sure if the rain is supposed to come next week, as this is our time when we get rain here and there, but check the weather reports as your trip gets closer and you'll be fine.
Not shorts weather to me either! With cold mornings and evenings, what to wear can be tricky. Layers are good as long as you don't mind carrying the layers when you shed them. And it can change from one day to the next. Jan 1, I was almost hot by noon. Jan 2, was so cold I kept my coat on all day and was still cold.
Speaking of earthquakes, I was at Disneyland when we had a pretty good one. All the rides were shut down for hours for inspection. That only happened to me once though.
Earthquakes, Mudslides, Wildfires....yup, we get it all here in CA. I love this state! LOL
Not shorts weather for me either, I like it to be in the 80s before I put on shorts. Us Californian's are such wimps. LMAO!! Enjoy your trip next week, I hope the weather is great and the crowds are low!

It's 36 degrees every morning when I leave for work and I'm shivering.....LOL I hate that my windows are covered in ice every morning...LOL You'd never know I grew up in the mountains of Oregon where it got well below zero in the winters. lol

Speaking of ice on the windows...... Pixiewings, I have you to thank for my success in a recent battle with ice on the car windshield. When I was up in Northern California for Christmas I went out to my car early in the morning to meet my mom and sister for a day of after-Christmas shopping and there was ice covering all the windows. I wasn't sure what to do at first because everyone at my in-laws house was asleep and I didn't want to go back in the house and risk disturbing them. Then I remembered your words of wisdom about using a credit card to scrape the ice off. Unfortunately, the first thing I grabbed was the Vons club card and the ice scraping made the lamination peel off but it was worth the sacrifice. Thanks for the advice! I posted this on a different thread awhile back but I think it got burried before you got back from your trip so I'm assuming you didn't see it.
