going to disney&uni again! Sep 2011

OK, little brother... If you say "grab a kitten and come on down!" after I say "I saw cute kittens the other day, and now that the Y session is winding down we're thinking of you"....it's not all that supercool to realize that next week is booked and the following week you'll be out of town!

Harumph.

total boo.

On the up-side, I'm going to a Rainiers baseball game with a friend tomorrow, and next week (since I won't be in San Diego) I'll be getting hand's on knitting lessons from another friend!

Maybe I'll get so competent that I'll bring knitting with me on the trip. I'll be one of those knitting people! Woo!

I know somewhat. I prefer crocheting. I really enjoy doing embroidery a lot. I do plastic canvas once in a while but I prefer working with material. Hobbies where you can use your hands can be really relaxing.

As a pre-teen I did some embroidery...I remember liking it.

I just unraveled what I did earlier, and tried to do it again, and...my mind is blank! I went back to the video and can't do it!

Obviously daytime is best for my brain.

Knitting is one thing that no matter what I do I cannot master it.

I love using the iron on transfers with the flour sack towels. I get a kick out of the days of the week towels. I am fond of how nice the flour sack towels are to use. I especially like them when we are camping. They ring out nicely and dry really nicely on the clothes line. And it is fun to pick your colors and make your own look.

What a fun idea!

Decision made: not going to mention the halloween party to the family. Which means there are fewer dates to think about. Whew. Glad to have made the decision.

So tired of these teas I'm drinking. The one for the last few days is a "chi mover", a "liver cleanser". It's ruining lemons for me, as it has a lemon taste along with the other disgusting tastes. But it stinks up the house less, when I make it, than the other, which I have to start again tomorrow. Bleahhhhhhhhh.

Robert had his first night at home with his sleep mask thing. As Eamon calls it, his "coo ay" mask, because that's how he thinks Darth sounds when he breathes...coooo ayyyyy, cooooo ayyyyy. R slept on the couch last night (to get used to it himself before subjecting me to it) and E went in this morning, saw him, then I guess went and got his lightsaber and Luke robe, got all decked out, then went and stood in front of Darth, er, Robert, and waited for him to wake up. :rotfl2:

Anyway, he actually slept, and when he woke up he was actually awake, and it's been YEARS since I've seen him with this much energy. It's going to take some getting used to! I know it's for the better, I know he's going back to himself, but I suppose I had gotten used to the sleepy person.

I tell you, this trip will be vastly different than other Disney trips, if his energy continues! Pretty exciting stuff!!!!!

(Michele, since he's a new convert to the apnea mask thing and I had told him about your claustrophobia, he wants you to go see your doc again and see if there are newer, smaller, masks you might be able to wear. I just looked at him with amusement and said "like you're an expert now...." LOL. New converts...they're so cute, aren't they? Like me with the knitting stuff.)

That is so cute about E. Tell Robert I have been thinking about it seriously. I am tired all the time. I also woke up a couple of nights this week because I was not breathing and I was conscious of it. That scares me.

I would give a miss to the Halloween party, now don't get me wrong I love Halloween but I can do without the crowds that it attracts. And sorry to my friends with small children I am not fond of toddlers in crowds. I feel the need to watch them all because I worry about them. It is the mommy in me and it comes out way too strong.

Here is where I get my patterns.

I will tell him and he will be glad. :)

Did I tell you what they said to him? That during the first sleep study his brain woke up to some extent something like 110 times *per hour* to get him to breathe. He was barely sleeping at all.

Oh geez Molly. The poor guy wasn't getting any sleep at that rate. I can imagine that it is strange for him to feel so rested.

Yeah, he was closing his eyes while I drove him to the airport this morning, but I think it was habit rather than actual sleepiness!

That is entirely possible. I think it may take a while for his sleep pattern to repair itself.

So what you're saying is that a long trip to a very different timezone is, perhaps, NOT the best thing for him right now? :rotfl:

Hmmmm maybe.:lmao: Poor guy, that alone would exhaust me.

I realized that even though it's ages away and in a different season, it's still only the same as the Eastern time zone. So...not as awful.

Got an outfit for the MIB agent E. As always, costumes I'm involved with aren't simple; they have a backstory. I once wore a blue dress and devil horns and tail....

Why, yes, I was the song mix with Good Golly Miss Molly and Devil With a Blue Dress, how did you ever guess?

Anyway, Agent E(amon) was hired by Will Smith after the first movie, when dress codes had lightened up. So he's in black, but his OWN style. He has a black button up shirt and black pants and shoes, with a white and black necktie. :) Now he has to find his noisy cricket blaster toy, and we need to get a pair of black sunglasses, and he's set!

Had a good day scouring Goodwill and Value Village! Got the costume stuff, except for the shoes, at GW, but enjoyed VV much more.

Oh, and I found some little misting fans (little being the key word, as we have no wish to mist other people) on amazon, so I gotta buy those before they run out.

I knew you would have a ball at the thrift stores. They are always a lot of fun. I am amazed at the things you see.

Boy I would definitely get those now. From what I hear east of us they are suffering in the heat. We on the other hand are having unseasonably cool weather.

Our weather is back and forth! Just today it started off nearly raining when we left the house, then at 7pm it was SO warm!

Just thought of the perfect thing. If you've noticed my tickers, you can see that I like mixing it up. If you read my description of my current ticket lanyard you'd know it too (Ravenclaw tie lanyard with Tinkerbell pouch).

So MIB Agent E can be escorting me and Robert around the Halloween party (I think we're destined to go to it, as it just sounds like fun)...and R&I can be, say, Stitch and Agent Pleakley. Good? Well I love it! :rotfl:

Stitch and...Zurg? Bwa ha ha, just some sort of Disney outer space being.... ooh, how about Little Green Aliens!?

Look at that, there's even a wiki made of aliens that appear in Disney movies....

You could go really cute. You could have one of you be the cat from the old Cat From Outer Space movie. That could be real cute and not that hard. I love the idea of you and Robert being Disney aliens. That makes a great tie in with the whole thing. And I bet Eamon enjoyed going to the thrift stores for his costume too.

Oh this could be so fun.

I loved that original movie, with that cool collar on the cat. gotta think about that one more!

I think the cat would be great, the thing is though you have to get the collar. But, here is a fun idea, although Si and Am are not aliens that sure would be a cute couples costume.
