We are making last minute plans to go to Disney. I initially thought that we would look at the end of April into May (8 days), but now, my BIL and his family want to join us and won't be able to go until mid May (~17May). Do you all think that it is busier to go mid May than the beginning of the month? Does it make a difference? I was thinking that mid May might run into Senior Week or something like that. Any input would be great. Thanks in advance!!!

I think later may is busier than earlier in the month because the locals get out of school really early compared to other states. We've done both times (frequently go in May since it is our wedding anniversary month). It is hotter the later you get too. However, I wouldn't let it totally deter you. if that is when you can go - then go. If you totally have a choice, earlier might be better. Just MHO. We used to flip flop because we would by AP's so if one year we didn't go until May 16th, then the next year we would make sure we would be finishing our trip prior to that anniversary date so that our AP's would get us 2 trips. Now we are in the reality that is having a kid in school, so not sure if our May trips are a thing of the past (we're doing busy March this year since there is time off from school).

We're going May 10-17. Take DS5 out of Kinder for a week w/ teacher's blessing.

Tour Guide Mikes crowd level indicator is 5's and some 6/7's for May and then goes up to all 7/8's on May 24th.

I guess I'll find out;) We'll be there from May 9- May 26th.:cool1:
May 10 is my son's birthday and May 17 is my daugter's. I think it would stand to reason that the closer to Memorial Day, the busier it will get.
We are also going part of Easter Week (just DH, Me, and DD) So we will be conditioned to heavy crowds by the time Memorial Day Weekend comes around.

We were there the week of Mother's Day last year and I found no problem at all with the crowds. The weather was also great - hot enough to swim and remind you that you're in FL, but not crazy hot like the summer. Epcot was really pretty with the Flower and Garden Festival going on. We really enjoyed our trip. I think once you hit Memorial Day weekend, things pick up.

Actually you might be better off - grad nights run til the end of April and maybe the first of May. This will be our third time going the first full week of May. Crowds are great, weather is great - it's ALL great! And I'm not sure when schools get out in Orlando, but we're in Jacksonville, just 2 hrs away and our schools don't let out until early June.

Thanks fellow DISers!! I guess regardless when we go, we will still be with Mickey and the gang.

We've gone that week a few times..it's actually now our favorite time of year to visit. If we can..we hope to possibly get a discount or code and go again this year..so far..no codes, but we are hoping! It's a great week, weather is usually warm, but not as humid as the summer months. We never have a long wait for anything. Most every evening one of the parks is open later too.

ok we are going the end of May is that gonna be crazy or comfortable. This will be on 09 I thought it would be a smart move th go that last few days in MAy but not I am second guessing myself again. :sad2:
