Hi everyone,
We will be in Orlando from April 17-24. What are the crowds like at that time in Disney. Is the wait really long? Also what is the weather typically like then? Can someone also tell me how to get the trip countdown thingie? Thanks..Tara:sunny:

We will be there that week also. First, we are going on the 4 day cruise, then going to the parks Thursday - Saturday. I have heard that you can sometimes judge how crowded it will be by how late the parks stay open. The week of April 17th the parks will be closing earlier than at any other time in April, so I'm guessing it will be less crowded. In fact, the MK is closing at 7:00 on Friday with no Wishes fireworks scheduled.

The weather then is great. Usually 80's and sunny. Whenever we've been in April there's been 1 or 2 quick thunderstorms in the whole week. So really the weather is typically just about perfect. Obviously it could be abnormal, but it's pretty consistent that time of year. You will be surrounded by people from New England, especially Mass, since Patriots Day is the 16, and they get that week off. The crowds are not as bad as summer though. Whenever we've been in April we've been the week after that, when fewer states have school vacations, so I'm not sure about crowds, but it's not the mob scene that occurs in summer or around major holidays. You will also just miss the Easter crowds which will help.
There are directions to get the countdown on the Tech page.

You are going at the perfect time! The weather will be great; not too humid not too hot... Also you are pretty much in a lull period. Spring breaks are over but summer breaks haven't begun.

Another good thing about the very end of April/begining of May (that's when we try to go) is that the lull is not long enough really for them to shut down a lot of rides for mateinence like they sometimes do in the low season.

The downside is (as someone mentioned) you have to plan a little more if you want to see the fireworks and the parades because they only have them on some days. Also, if you are going to AK you might look at the times; I think it closes a little earlier.

The reason MK closes at 7pm on Friday and Saturday is due to Grad Night. These are going on 4/23, 4/24, 4/30 and 5/1. I am really hoping for low crowds. We will be there on 4/28 to 5/3. I can't wait! The weather should be great... not too humid.

We'll be there from 4/24 - 5/2! Does that count? ;) My Mom is taking my 2yo dd and I for a 'surprise' trip! Surprise, it's girls only!! Dh has to stay at home!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc (don't worry, he will be VERY happy to stay! )

Just like the kid in the Disney commercial..."I'm sooo excited!!!" ::yes::

we will be there from the 17th to the 25th and are hoping that the crowds will be thinning out. Lots of people from MA and ME will be there that week, but most other schools will have already had their spring break. The last time we were there , same time in April, the weather was nice, but not too hot. In fact the day we went to TL it was downright chilly. I hope for mid 80's, anything to get away from this cold here in New England.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :D

We will be there April 22-27. I guess that's the tail end of the spring breaks, and are hoping for low crowds especially the last couple of days after that last spring break weekend.

Just noticed that you will be at AKL the same time as us - April 22-25. We are going to take advantage of those early park closings by spending time at the resort pool, animal watching, and storytelling.

CAN'T WAIT!!!!

We're staying at the Poly and POFQ April 18-23. I'm looking forward to sharing the park with New Englanders. I'll just have to explain to my 2 DDs why y'all talk funny!! :wave2:

We'll be there from April 19th until the 24th.

Is there a thread somewhere on the grad night thing and how that will effect others?

We'll be staying at the GF on the 23rd. If they have fireworks for the kids, we should be able to see them from the hotel.

Karen

We're from MA and will be in WDW from April 16-25... We are hoping for small crowds too!!!

25 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
