We have never been to Disney. We are staying at The All Star Sports. The children are very excited and can't wait. How busy is it around that time? Does anyone have suggestions for this family of six?

I saved hundreds, literally!!! We were able to extend our five day trip to nine days, using the information I found on these boards! :bounce: :bounce:

Also, I found the PassPorter (which I learned about here) invaluable. You can purchase one at your local Barnes & Noble OR www.passporter.com

Hope this helps!

I'll be there the same days that you are.
We are so lucky. I go every year and I can
give you some tips. I go during this time
because it is not too crowded. I used to go
in July or Aug. Sept is much better. How
old are your children? I know that we will
have fun. You will have the most fun trip
ever.

Ash is 14 she will be 15 Dec 22, Am is 13, Brennen is 11, Annie is 9 and this is the first time to disney.

I read your dates wrong. Sorry about that, I
have never gone in Dec. The weather will be
more plesant then. It is still so hot when we
go in Sept. Are you going to IOA, your kids
would love going there. The Spiderman ride is
the greatest!!!!! It is my all time fav. ride
ever. I also like Cat In The Hat, and Bilge
Rat Rafters. My fav. Disney park is Epcot. My
son likes TOT and Rockin Roller Coaster at
MGM. Way too wild for me. Your kids are a good
age for going to Disney.Sept 15-23 and ready to
go, can't wait. E-mail me with any Questions
and I'll try to help since it is your 1st time
going.

We went this past December (2000) and it was unusally cold. We had our winter coats since we were coming from New Jersey but we did not have gloves and hats and had to purchase same. My tip: bring your hats and gloves just in case. The money spent on purchasing those items could have been better spent elsewhere!

We go every year around those dates so I can vouch that it can be EXREMELY busy those days...so make sure you take advantage of FastPass...get the passes early or they may be all taken. And it can get cold then, so pack for both warm and cold weather.

Hi, we will be going almost that exact same time Dec. 15th through Dec. 21st (staying at the All-Star sports), I have been told that the crowds don't pick up until after 20th At least I hope they don't! I've never been there during the winter months, looking forward to it being cooler. We just went this last May for eight days and it was pretty hot. We stayed at the Swan, hope we won't be disappointed. I doubt we will, we didn't spend much time in the room(but the location was great). We didn't intend to return so soon but we just couldn't pass up the great airfare and hotel rates. I'm sure you have a great time, I know we will.

Edit- We were able to switch to the All-Star Movie for the same 49.00 rate :)

don't forget to check www.mousesavers.com for ways to save on all parts of your trip! Mary lists meal discounts & cheap things to do.

Decemeber should be wonderful. Have a great time!

Mustangdi we will not be going to IOA but it sounds like lots of fun. We are doing the four parks at Disney and some outside things. Like go to Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock Cafe, Arabian Nights, Ect. There are a couple of things like K Space, Discovery Cove, Ripleys, Worlds G book of records, Wonder Works and so on but we have to decide which we can afford and really want to do.

Disney is extemely busy during that period. However I have friends in the travel industry who told me this year with the terroist attacks things will be different. People will be avoiding crowded places that are targets at all costs. So you may be lucky as it will be less people and better deals than previous years

I will be there during that time. My inlaws went at this time last year and they said it wasnt that crowded......they are comparing to the summer crowds thats the only other time they have went is summer and the week before Christmas.....so Im hoping it wont be crowded.

WDW usually does not get really crowded until Christmas week. This year with the way tourism has fallen, it might not even be that crowded during Christmas week. I think this years abundence of WDW resort discounts for this time period, which have always been non existent in the past, are a sure sign that reservations are down! We are going to be at WDW Dec 16-25 and I just called for a Candlelight Processional dinner package on Christmas Eve and assorted other PS and there was all kinds of availibilty for everything!!!

Disnee Dad Says..................................................... It should be a little busy, this year you may get a break. I would strongly urge you to do commando/early entry plans for your first few days, before the park attendence increases. You hit the rides early and can always chill the last day or two with parades/ fireworks, nice dinners, because you ran your *** off at the beginning of the trip!!!

After reading several of your posts it's obvious you should read more and post less !!

I agree with Deep, I think it will be less crowded because of the things that have went on with the terrorist and then you have to add the anthrax cases in Florida. So its really hard to tell but I think it will be less crowded then the years before.
