Just bought my 1 way tickets down to the World! I was able to cobble together elevate points from DH and my accounts, transfer a few and purchase a few more and score 3 RT tix from the left coast to MCO for $167.50 :cool1:

Now, to work out the return. Virgin is still asking $250 a person for the return trip. I think I will wait a bit as they have not put the date of my return in the "sale" bubble yet. I also have some Jetblue points, but with JB fares being sky high it doesn't look like it saves much and we'd have to fly into a different airport than we would be leaving from which sounds like a pain. :(

Anyone else do the buy one way and cross your fingers game?

Doing that myself right now. Have out flights down booked with JEtblue for $99 per person. Kind of waiting for Airtran to release dates since I would like a later return flight then 8:00Am. Kind of a pain that Airtran will not release new dates until end of may or so. We prefer direct flights since we are flying with a 6y old.

I am not sure where you live at but some of the car rental places give big discounts to drive the car to a northern location from orlando.

Thanks for the tip. We are in California and I just can't do 40 hours in a car. Though, now you've got me wondering about driving to an northern airport for the flight home...something to look at...:goodvibes
