We are attending the Daytime Emmys in June at the Las Vegas Hilton and decided to stay there to be up close and personal with the stars. I was there quite a few years ago but only in the casino and lobby. Has anyone stayed there recently and have any thoughts on the rooms and hotel now? We're used to staying at the Bellagio and Venetian so i don't know what to expect (especially since the package was really inexpensive). I feel my hotel is part of my vacation experience and don't mind spending a little more for a nice hotel/view. Will I be too disappointed? Thanks all!

I have not been there, but I would not expect the luxury of Bellagio or Venetian. You're staying there primarily for the awards. I'm sure you will have a greater chance of running into the stars by being there. Give it a try. Enjoy!! We actually plan on visiting there the day after the awards. DH wants to check out the Elvis show there.

What is the date for this?

I looked at the rooms on-line and they look ok. I like to stay right on the strip, but I will be able to see a lot of stars coming and going if we are there. The emmys are on Sunday, June 19th at 5:00. Red carpet starts at 3:00 and we have to be seated by 4:00. The show runs from 5 to 7 and the ticket includes dinner and drinks in the Grand Ballroom with the nominees and winners afterwards. I am sooo excited and know it will be the last time most of these soap stars will be together since cancellations. That is why we decided to go.

Trent Carlini is the best Elvis impersonator I have ever seen. I have seen his show twice and he is amazing. You will have the best time! Make sure not to miss him!!!!! He is so handsome in person too!

Good to know! I haven't heard much about the show, but I remember seeing him on an Elvis impersonation show a few years back. Should be a fun night!

He also won "Next Biggest Thing" show a while back(I think that is what it was called). The show goes decade by decade from when he started to Las Vegas and also movies. You will love it!

Hey Pooh6890! I'm also going to be attending the Awards show at the LV Hilton. So excited! Do you think we will get to meet some of the stars afterwards at the dinner?

We stayed at the L.V. Hilton a while ago, and it was old then. If you're looking for a Bellagio or Venetian experience, I think you will be disappointed.

But if your focus is on seeing the stars, you'll be in the right place.

Absolutely! :yay:Since the ticket includes dinner and drinks afterwards, they will all be there. I attended the Broadway Cares for Aids concert in NYC in March and we had a meet and greet afterwards too. But, this is on a much larger scale. Lots of press and if you have attended any other soap events, they are alway accessible for pictures and talk. This year will be extra special since the cancellation of AMC and OLTL (and GH soon if you ask me). That is the main reason we wanted to go. To see them all together for the last time. I am so excited!!:yay:

You got that right. That is the ONLY reason we are staying there and I know it will be worth it. Besides, nothing could disappoint me in Vegas!:dance3:

I'm watching the Emmy's as I finish packing for my Vegas/Disney trip. Hope it was as fun as it looks!!

So..........the emmys were amazing! We got to walk the red carpet with the stars! Met Dr. Oz, Jillian from Biggest Loser, all the soap stars from all the shows! The show was fun, but we all missed the reels that they submit when they are nominated. They spent a little too much time on Oprah (not that I don't love Oprah) and she wasn't even there! There was a cocktail hour with drinks and hor'dorves. The dinner afterwards was definately worth the price of the ticket. A three course meal and a HUGE goodie bag with great stuff! After dinner we talked with most all of the OLTL & GH people. They made us feel like we were a big part of the night and it was one of the best times I have ever had in Vegas. We are definately going again next year!
