Going to Cape Cod...any advice?

My boys are ACTIVE 6 yr olds...Do you think Captain Mike's or Orleans? I 'll take your advice, since you've done both. But they are so into Pirate's and treasure maps, and digging for gold. I guess I should get back up to P-town and go to the Wyddah again too.pirate:

So what are your plans so far???

We're not going this weekend, but the weekend after. We really have no plans yet, just driving up Friday and leaving Sunday. We know we want to go to the beach, but that's about it.

I'm really interested in that seal cruise so we may do that. Other than that, I'm still going over everyone's suggestions and looking at some internet stuff. No matter what we do I'm sure we'll have a good time. Just being there makes me happy and my main goal is to RELAX and have fun. :flower:

cinmell We've eaten at Capt. Parkers many times. Love the Chowda! It's so filling I can't get past a cup and a salad. DH says they have great Fish N Chips too. [/B]

I'll be heading to the Cape in 2 weeks and I'm hoping I can pursuade the group I'm going with to have Saturday night dinner at Parker's!

For 6 year olds I would do the pirate adventures. Before you leave the dock, they paint tatooes on the kids and you if you like. and give them a Pirate name. My son was killer Kellen, ( which he loved) Then they pull up a map from the water and follow the clues through the harbor. Other boaters play along and growl at the boat and pretend to beat you to the treasure. They get the kids pretty rowdy. But keep them very safe. You are no more than 10 feet from them the entire ride. They have water cannons as well and the kids shoot targets that are trying to steal the treasure. Have a great time. But don't tell the kids any of the details! The treasure is pulled up from the harbor on a hook, They have it moored out there. (No digging required)

HEY LynnCC....did you forget about me???

I guess I'll have to give my own plug here! Try Barbyann's in Hyannis...good food, call ahead seating...and if I do say so myself..great servers!!! Although I won't be back to work for another few weeks (due to a fall I took in June) my DIS friend minnster22 is there...You could have a great dinner and talk Disney too!!! Or let me know and I'll join ya!!!

And yes....the Pirates Cruise out of Hyannis harbor is awesome. This weekend the Boston POPs is playing on the Hyannis Green at 4pm on Sunday...I'll be there!! Look for the Barnstable High School Marching Band Group...a bunch of volunteers in red shirts!

Have fun whatever you do! And watch those Rotaries!!!

Take me with you........................

Four Seas in Centerville and a walk along Craigville Beach. My house, my parents house, is less then 1.5 miles from Four Seas and Craigville.......

Have fun!!!!! Can I come??? I'll be good and quite.

Just a little bump to help...maybe more daytime CC fans will help you out! :Pinkbounc

Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather...and if you want to do the Swan River Kayaks/paddle boats, that's always fun in West Dennis. Also love the Bumper Boats...I have only done the one in Harwich, but I think there is one in Hyannis too. We will also be at the DY CC baseball games too.

Barbyann's is a favorite of ours...we go there whenever we are in Hyannis....the servers are great....;) ...We talked DIS talk during lunch!!!

Second the motion for Craigville Beach....nice spot!

How about a ride on the Cape Cod Dinner Train? It leaves from Hyannis each night and is a slow ride up to the canal and back while you eat dinner in a vintage dining car.

Go on the Duck Tour out of Hyannis - did that a couple summers back and loved it. (We've also gone on the one in Boston and just did the one in Westerly, RI)

Pooh's Pal - How could I forget about Barbyann's
DH and DS love the Filet Mignon there!

If you DISers do plan a mini meet there for dinner or something you can count me in!

Strawberry Lemonade - you asked for something special to do for your DH while your here, I'm sure he would think a mini meet would be special LOL:Pinkbounc

I second that choice, I've heard it's pretty good.
Cape Cod Dinner Train

Another idea is dinner and a show at the Melody Tent. This is the summer theater in the round.....the Paddock Restaurant is right next door...pricey, but delicious! 5*

If I think of anything else...I'll post!

WOW, something I'm familiar with! Sadly, we're the type to eat at Chili's or Olive Garden anywhere we go (trying to put a stop to that...I promise!) but we have eaten at the Paddock. It has the best flourless chocolate cake I've ever eaten.

Whatever you decide to do, if you happen to find yourself broken down and stranded on Chappaquiddick Island, DO NOT accept a ride from a certain democratic senator from Massachusetts.
