My husband and I are going to a convention that is being held at Disney's Boardwalk Inn. In the past we have stayed at the All Star Sports, Dixie Landings Allagator Bayou, Dixie Landings Magnolia Mansions, Corranado Springs and the Yacht Club(JoeCool has an amazing site on this resort). We have gotten such good advice on each resort and help with room request every time we have asked in the past, is there anyone out there that knows info on the Boardwalk Inn? If so could you send me specifics and guide me in making a room request. If you have any other advice I would love it if you would share it! thanks for all of your help!

You will love the Boardwalk Inn. My family and I were there for 2 weeks at the end of Oct. last year. The resort is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. We booked a standard room and requested a courtyard view on an upper floor. We arrived at 12 noon pleasantly surprised that not only was our room ready but we got exactly what we requested and an extra large balcony. Many of the rooms offer views of Illuminations at night. We were able to see the fireworks from our balcony.

You will enjoy the location...so close to Epcot you can walk and will the new pathway to MGM you can walk also. They do have ferry boats right outside on the Boardwalk to take you to either Epcot or MGM. The buses ran ofter, we waited no more than 5 minutes for a bus to MK or AK.

The resaurant choices are endless. Our favorite for breakfast was Spoodles, just around the corner. Great food and the service is the best my husband ever had. Everyone is so friendley. You'll love the Sreendoor, it has food items as well as clothing and souviners. Every night after dinner we would walk to Epcot via the World Showcase entrance and watch Illuminations. Great way to walk off dinner.

The rooms at the Boardwalk are spacious. Two queen beds and a nice size daybed. There are two sinks and a vanity outside the bathroom and a dresser by the closet with six drawers. The closet is big and you also have drawers under the entertainment center. Bright, cheerful colors in the room. The bellhop brought my 2 children balloon animals when he brought up our luggage. An extra little magic.

If you have any specific questions please ask. We love the Boardwalk Inn. Also they have a great workout facility and the main pool has an awesome slide. It's 200 feet I think and shaped like a wooden roller coaster. There are also at least two hot tubs and a quiet pool in back of the Boardwalk.

Hope this helps. Have a great trip.

As I said we are going on a convention trip. Along with this it is our 21st wedding anniversary. When we call and set up the reservation is there a specific area we should we request and will it help telling them that it is our anniversary? One other time at the Yacht Club we were there during our anniversary and they upgraded us to a water view (we faxed the request to the hotel). I don't have a fax number for the Boardwalk and know nothing about the hotel so am not sure what to request?

Also my husband will be at the conference during the day but we will have the evenings free. How is the Boardwalk Pool and can you use the Beach Club Pool? Any advice on things we should do as adults alone at Disney? Any tips on where to eat on our anniversary (we did Cinderella's Castle on our last anniversary and it was very nice but would like to try something new)?;)

Thanks for the great info. Can you tell me about the daybed? Is it about a twin size?

There is a quiet pool at the BWI also, if you're not into a water slide and a lot of people. We stayed there last July (w/3 kids) and I couldn't believe how empty that pool was. There were never more than 10 people at that pool at any given time!

The Yachtsman Steakhouse is probably one of my favorite restaurants in WDW, and is close by. The Flying Fish at BWI is great too. And since you're w/i a 5 min. walk to EPCOT any of the restaurants in World Showcase would be perfect for your anniversary. Maybe one of the French restaurants?

The daybed is a little bit smaller than a twin bed. My son is 50 inches tall and was very comfortable in it.

Disneypal,

Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary. Definately mention that on your reservations. I responed to your email...hope that helps. I don't think you can use any other resorts pool but the Boardwalk has 3. One quiet pool at the BWI and one at the BWV and the large pool I mentioned with the slide. There are several wonderful restaurants in the World Showcase to celebrate your anniversary. LeCellier in Canada is one of our favorites. The building is so romantic, a beautiful pathway leads to it. France has a wonderful resaurant too but I can't remember the name. Victoria & Alberts in the Grand Floridian is suppose to be very romantic and expensive. It's a full 7 course dinner and they give you a rose and your menu personalized I think.
I hope this helps.
