DH is in hospital recovering from bypass surgery he had yesterday. It has been a rough couple of days and quite a roller coaster. We are certainly grateful for what we have and now give thanks for what we have been given.

I would ask that we might be added to your prayers for a bit.

His efforts in exercising and my finding WISH to give him pointers in staying healthy have certainly helped him to be physically stronger while he will be in recovery.

Everyone, keep on keepin' on. It will help you every step of the way.

Prayers are on the way. My dad had quadruple bypass last year and it is a lengthy recovery process, but once he was fully recovered he was as good as new. {{{{HUGS}}}}

{{{{Hugs}}}} It sounds like you have been through a rough time, TigerLily 03. Prayers already said for a quick and safe recovery.

Heart bypass surgery? My husband had that and it was scary but he was home within the week, which amazed me.

Prayers for you and your husband. I hope his recovery is easy and the surgery is 100% successful. Is he still on the ventilator? I know that I felt so much relief when they discontinued that ventilator on my husband, it was just scary to me.

{{{HUGS}}} my friend. Keep us posted, okay?

{{ Hugs }} for you and prayers also as you go through this difficult time! My dad had bypass surgery and after the recovery period he said he felt better than he had in years! I hope your husband has a speedy and full recovery. Don't forget to take care of yourself while you're taking care of him.

{{{Hugs}}} for you Tiger Lily. I will keep both you and your husband in my thoughts and prayers.

Wanted to pass on my best wishes to you. Dad had quadruple 5 years ago. I know it's rough, but it is probably the best thing that ever happened to him. They got to the problem before it got to him and ever since then he's been better than ever -- works at being healthier, less stress, etc. Hopefully this "bad" will turn out to be a blessing in the long run for you both.

Tiger Lily-

Like others have shared, I know your DH will come through this stronger and feeling better than ever!

My dad also had *quintuple* bypass surgery three (? I think) years ago now. Once he got past the initial recovery stage where everything is just so sore, he felt great. He says he can't remember EVER feeling as good and as energetic as he does now, even in his much younger years.

You'll know he's doing well when he's ready to GO, GO, GO, and you're still struggling to keep him quiet until the Doc gives the okay for full activity!

I'm glad WISH and your focus on eating right and getting healthy exercise has helped you and DH prepare for this. You know you can come here if you need a shoulder to lean on. You also know we'll all be anxious to hear how well his recovery is coming along. :sunny:

Get as much rest as you can now. (I know, easier said than done.) He'll be home before you know it!

Our prayers are with you and your husband. I hope that he heals quickly and will be back to exercising in no time.

TL, {{{hugs}}} and prayers to you and dh. I hope for a healthy recovery. Hang in there!:sunny:

Prayers and good thoughts comin' your way!! :teeth:

My Dad had quadruple bypass 17 years ago, and has done really well. Walking a lot was one of the keys to success. He has slowed down quite a bit now that he is in his 70's though. Originally his doctors thought he might need to have the surgery done again in about 10 years, but he still hasn't needed to.

{{{Hugs}}} I'll keep you and your DH is my prayers

{{{Hugs}}} for you and your family during this difficult time.

Don't forget to get some rest and take care of yourself so that you can take care of your dh.

Best to you and yours.

DH came home Monday 11/3 and is beginning his new life. He is telling everyone he has a new birthday, the 30th Oct (the day of his surgery). I/we do know he will be fine. It's just going through all of this does take a bit out of you as well as gives a bit too.

We have been blessed with a new beginning.

Keep on working to stay healthy. You are worth it!

Thanks to everyone for your support.

(((HUGS))),
My thoughts and prayers are with you, your DH and your family.
