So we were not going to go to DL this year but decided that we just can’t wait another 358 days to go. We decided to go Oct. 22nd - 24th. Any reason these dates will be a bad idea? We will not be doing the MHP as it is to expensive and this is going to be a budget trip. I looked on LMT and found Quality inn (behind Hojo’s) for $40pn or Castle inn for $57pn. What is the better choice? I LIKE the short walk from Castle inn but is it going to be a better hotel choice?

How should the crowds be that weekend?

So excided to be going……

From all reports on the boards the Castle inn is nasty..

I am booked myself at the Quality Inn in 2 weeks! can't say how it is till then.

Stayed at both. The Quality Inn was new and called the Penny Sleeper Inn at the time. (I think it's the same place) :confused3 The Castle Inn 4yrs ago.
At the time the Quality Inn wasn't too bad,but that was 30yrs ago. I'd return to the Castle Inn only if they paid me. :surfweb:

The problem with you dates is that it's a weekend. But I'm guessing that you have to go on a weekend or else you would get cheaper hotel rates during the week.

I don't find either hotel real favorable. Castle inn is somewhere I would never stay based on reviews. QI might have some freeway noise. But the rate appears low so I might bring earplugs and take it.

If you choose Castle Inn, be sure to bring the following:

At least one spray can of Lysol. Also, hand sanitizer, and sanitizing wipes, and maybe even some bleach to clean out the tub/toilet with.

Your own towels from home.

Your own sheets from home.

Earplugs.

Flip flops to wear in the room/in the shower.

Portable deadbolt for the door.

Roach spray.

Seriously, though....it used to be a decent place to stay...10 to 15 years ago. Now, I'd be wary of even letting my DOG spend the night there :scared1: :rotfl: , as she might catch fleas. Or at least be bit by bedbugs. Go with one of your other hotel choices!

Do not stay at Castle Inn, even taking the precautions Spacemermaid suggested I would not stay there again. NO way!!!!!!!! Rude staff, dirty room, 4 towels for 6 people even after repeated requests for towels....NO way!!!!

I've never stayed at the QI but I do know that the Anaheim Plaza is nice and we stayed there last October for $59 a night. Also check the HoJo Anaheim to see if they have any availability.

If it was me, I wouldn't stay at either. If everything else walking distance was booked up, I might even look further afield, and we almost never do that. That being said, if QI and CI were the only possible choices, I would go with the Quality Inn. I have not personally stayed there though. My in-laws stayed for 1 or 2 nights last year. My mother-in-law described it as tolerable, not gross, but not all that comfortable or convenient either and she wished she'd spent a little more and stayed elsewhere.

Ill look around some more. We picked that weekend because we want to go before the Halloween decorations are gone. Most of the other hotels are booked....

Someone posted on a Hojo's thread that they are cancelling their room (w/ entertainment rate), which includes your dates. Not sure if there is anyway to transfer that room and rate to you...but might be worth a try. Here is the thread, check out post number 84.

I see Kayla'smom beat me to it!! I was going to direct you to her recommendation of trying to get the Hojo's discounted rate reservation from Sleeplessinseatle. Those rooms are $59 $69 or $79 depending on the grade of room....We LOVE the $59 rooms so if budget is an issue then you can't go wrong with these! Good luck with it!

We stayed at the Americas Best Value Inn which is the one on Katella (not the one on Ball Rd). It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to DL but had a nice pool and jacuzzi, free parking, free wifi internet, free breakfast (Danishes, donuts, apples, coffee and juice), fridge and microwave, one bedroom suites available... really good price and worth the extra walk IMHO..

ok so we change everything up and are now going 10/17 to 10/19 and staying at the anaheim plaza hotel. This looks like a realy nice hotel and for a great price of only $59 per night. How is this hotel?

We spent 2 nights there *9/09* it was fine ~ I'd stay there again if the price was right *$59 is great!

Anahiem Plaza was very nice for us, the room was very large and we had a small balcony as well. It wasn't a bad walk at all and the room was clean. The problem we had was with the water temp, it varied a great deal when I was in the shower, going hot to icy in a second. We would stay there again for sure.
