I'm currently planning my next trip to WDW, probably next Feb. I'll be travelling from Australia with a then 6 month old baby and a nearly 3 year old. My hubby will be meeting me at the end of our stay but I'll have about a week on my own first. I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on how I'll manage on my own - any tips. I'm also trying to decide where to stay onsite - I'm thinking one of the monorail resorts. Last time we stayed off site and rented a car but I'm not too keen to try driving on the other side of the road.

I agree given the age of your kids, a monorail resort would work great! I'd vote for the Polynesian because of the new pool. I would think your three year old would enjoy time at the pool. I think going with the two kids on your own is very workable, but I would plan to take it slow and easy. The three year old will most likely enjoy the MK the most. I think as long as the kids get their naps and are not pushed, you'll have a great time. Happy planning! :D

You are a corageous woman but the trip is do-able. I agree with the Poly as the resort of choice. You will love it and with 2 young kids, Capn. Hooks(24hr. cafeteria type rest.) will come in handy. Just make sure you pace yourself and use a double stroller. You know your children better than anyone so you will know what rides to go for and what ones to avoid. Good luck!

Thanks so much for the replies. Your recommendations of the Poly only back up what I've already heard so it looks like that might be the resort for us. I had also thought of the Caribean resort since that is probably more within our budget but I've got a bit of time so I can save a bit extra.
I certainly plan to let the kids set the pace. I plan to get the new baby used to being out and sleeping in his/her pram. My 2 year old, then 3 yr old already goes without a day nap most days and doesn't really like to be in the pram - I have a very independent little girl, but she is a little helper so I think it will all be fine. The only downside I see to going solo is that I won't be able to go on some of the adult type rides - but I've done them before so it's not that big a deal.
Thanks again

You may also want to get your baby used to being in a sling so that you can carry it in lines easily and have your hands free for your other child. 3 year olds tend to wiggle a lot on rides, and you'll want to have your hands available if you need them.

If you are thinking about the Carribbean because of price, check out the price of the Comtemporary. The Contemporary usually runs cheaper than the poly, and the proximity to the Magic Kingdom can't be beat, especially if you don't want to take the monorail. When I went with my two year old, I loved the Contemporary because I could just walk into the Magic Kingdom, and not wait for the monorail.
