hi ,
carn't believe we are off on sunday only a few more sleeps to go!!!
anyway just after a bit of ride info as we have never been before , we went to florida one last year and the first ride we did there was mission space it was awful we all felt soo sick afterwards i think it was the combination of being in such a confined small space and the speed force it felt like it went on for an eternity, anyway after doing this first it scared us all in case any were as bad my son wouldn't go on anything that said motion sickness so we missed alot of good rides that prob would of been fine,
can you tell me is there any rides we should steer away from in paris or is there nothing like that there , we like roller coasters i think ,son went on rock and roller and loved it i wimped out though , please any help as we don't want to spoil this hol with keep worring about what rides to go on as we don't want to feel sick all night again

thanks
suzanne

I cant think of any rides at DLP like Mission Space. I also went on Mission Space last year but it didnt affect me.

One ride that does make me feel sick is the Tea cup ride. Both the one at WDW and DLP leave me feeling a bit rough so you might want to avoid that.

I'm sure other more experienced Paris goers will know for def.:thumbsup2

I'm so glad I'm not the only one, I ended up arguing with my 6 year old last time because he wouldn't stop spinning us. I didn't go on it again.

I can't comment on Space Mountain, because I've never plucked up enough courage to ride it, apparently it's quite rough, RnR was OK in my opinion, if your son's already done that then you know what to expect, Indianna Jones is quite tame now it's running forwards again, in fact I'd go as far as to say I quite enjoy it.

Star Tours is a simulator ride, which makes my stomach churn, but the rest of the family love it, I tend to grit my teeth and stare at the floor.

Other than those I can't think of any other rides that you might have a problem with, hope you have a lovely holiday.:)

I was nervous of BTM when I went but finally took the plunge on my third visit. I loved it. Wouldn't risk either Space Mountain, Indiana Jones or RnR because I have arthritis - I would like to be able to walk the rest of my holiday - but I didn't find BTM too much of a problem

I went on Space mountain and couldn't walk after it. Totally unlike me. It's a very different space mountain from WDW. BTM was fab. We broke down on it. Sat at the end for ages before they finally rescued us. So glad we weren't the ones stuck and having to walk down the mountain.

There is only one ride that makes me sick thats the tea cups.

Rock'n'Roller, Indiana & Space mountain are nothing compared to the tea cups.

(went on Rock'N'Roller 12 times in a row after breakfast :) )

I once tricked my dad to go onto space mountain, he was green for the rest of the day :)

One you might want to avoid is the Virtual Space Mountain in the studios TV tour, its a simulator machine where you can design your own rollercoaster and you can add loops where the whole machine spins over.

The cast member allowed us to use her own special program last time, it had 10 loop in I think :thumbsup2

My 5 yr old daughter loved Big Thunder Mountain last time and now she is 7 and has hyped up her little brother for this trip (also arriving on sunday).

I think that it will most likely be the first place we go. Not sure whether to take 7 yr old on Rock n Roll, 4 yr old too small anyway.:hourglass

Another vote for the teacups. They really make me so sick, it's embarrassing. I can't even watch them as it makes me queasy!!!

thanks for help,
the space mountain is it just a roller coaster or do the light make it more like a simulator ride

I went on space mountain 2 just after it opened and it is excellent. It is a bog standard normal roller coaster, just in the dark. I found it very similar to the rock n roller. They do the whole disney thing of telling a story and making it an experience but in no way is it a simulator but it is a fast coaster that sends you up down and rolls; no spinning at all - I hate waltzers at the funfair so I assume I wont like the tea cups that keep getting mentioned. I stayed away from those last time.

I think that space mountain 2 and rocknrolll are about the same, maybe SM2 a bit faster. I believe that Indiana Jones is faster but I've not tried it. The Indiana one has the biggest height restriction (none of my kids are tall enough for it (min 1.4m) so not sure if that is anything to go by. If I get the chance I'll have a go on it next week.

I can't find a speed listed anywhere for Indiana Jones, possibly because it's constantly slowing down, speeding up. Running forwards there's nothing to it - backwards it was dreadful, I thought I was going to die when I came off it.
