::MickeyMo Going over Christmas 2008, need help with Where to go, What to do, Best Shows to see, general info on, :santa: Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve Can anyone Help! ::MinnieMo

christmas to Ny is one of the few times - when the WDW parks as well as the other theme parks can close due to the crowds.

so if planning on going to WDW or any of the theme parks - definitely get there early. either call the phone number or look online each night to be sure you get there when the parks opens.

otherwise stay on site at WDW. unless you main park is US/IOA -then stay onsite there.

I don't go during this time - I really, really hate crowds. Although lately been going during spring break.:rotfl:

I don't know if I would be at any of the parks on Christmas or NY day. just too many people. that say I would pick Epcot - it is the biggest and generally less crowded.

We only go in Dec, and 08 is our next trip, we actually did a murder mystery dinner on x-mas night and we did seaworld and their luau on xmas eve-so much fun.

The 1st thing you need to decide is whether you'd rather stay onsite at WDW or offsite. This will helpful info to know, during the planning process.

If you want to go during Christmas, you need to be ready to make all ADRs (Advance Dining Reservations) the day they become available. Everything books up very quickly.

I think Liberty Tree Tavern is a great restaurant to dine at during the holidays. The characters dress in attire appropriate for the holiday. The food is just okay, but the atmosphere can't be beat.

For dinner shows, Dixie Stampede has a great holiday show. This would be fun for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Unfortunately, it's not onsite at WDW. It's not far away, but it may be difficult for you to get to w/o a car.

The parks have special holiday events that are "not to be missed". If you'd like more info, feel free to inquire.

This is just a few of the highlights. I don't want to completely overwhelm you on your 1st post.

I did want to note that in the US we don't celebrate Boxing Day. I had no idea what it was, until we met a couple from the UK on a cruise & became friends with them. Sounds like a fun tradition. :)
