Going out on a limb hoping someone knows - AP4 availbe Nov. 20th???

As some of you may know, I've been trying to get the AP4 rate at concierge at either GC or DLH. The first several times we've called we were told all rooms at that rate were sold out for the dates I want (check in nov.19 check out on the 21st). We called yesterday and the lady told us that we won't be able to get the AP4 rate for the night of November 20th because it's a holiday.

First of all, no, it's not a holiday. The holiday is the Thursday. So we are very confused, how come none of the other operators told us this? Should I keep calling trying to get the rooms or am I wasting my time as well as theirs?? Anyone know?

I'm hoping she misunderstood and thought we wanted a room the night of the 21st, which I know will not have the AP4 rate because the following day is the holiday so that would make sense.

Many people have the entire Thanksgiving week off and it will be quite crowded during that time, I'm sure that's why the operator referred to the holiday -- it's not just one day, it's the many days surrounding Thanksgiving in which the park expects large crowds. I would not count on getting an AP4 rate for the 20th, sorry.

Alrighty, I wonder though if it's the entire week, why can I get the AP4 for the Monday the 19th? It's just weird to me but alas I do not make the rules.

And the entire week off?? I wish...in Canada we would get only the one day, if it fell on a Thursday we're at work on the Friday.

The AP4 did not include the 20th through I think the 24th or 25th. I remember that it started on the 20th as we booked from the 17th-20th and specifically ended on the 20th to get the good rates for all our nights. That must be when the main crowd starts.

I don't think that most Americans have the whole week off, unless people take vacation at the same time. And most people that I know would take the Friday off and have vacation Thanksgiving and after, not the days before.

That doesn't help you in your quest, but I didn't want you to think that most of us have that whole week off (unless people are lucky enough to request and take vacation time).

Thanks guys. Dh and I decided that this obviously just wasn't meant to be so we're going to budget to stay at GC on our next trip with or without the AP4.

I do hope crowds won't be too bad but if they are, oh well. I'm gonna have so much fun anyways.

2 years ago all the schools here in central cali changed to 1 week off at Thanksgiving and I know several people from other states who have the same thing...I think it may be turning into a US wide thing soon....

oh Christina you will have fun..come on now...keep checking on the rates though...they might change
