Hi everyone, im going to Disney on Sept 1 untill the 8th. We are staying in disney property. We arrive to orlando @ 10:30am on thursday and live the next thursday @ 11pm, the only days we have available to go to universal and island is that same thursday, tuesday or the day we live. Our 1st plan was that the day we arrive 1st go to one of the water parks BB or TL(new plan doing it the last day, we have to be @ the aiport at 6pm). But now we want to go 2 days to Universal and Island Adventure instead of 1 like we plan before, because is my kids (6-7) first time and we want to do everything.

What should we do? Go the day we arrive to Universal and on Tuesday wake up early and go to Island because the Harry Porter ride. And if we miss something on Universal the 1st day go back when we are done in Island?

Should we buy the meal plan? The 1st day we probably eat something before we go and during the night we have the meal plan @ Disney. Probably for the 2nd day?

p.s. Hi From Puerto Rico:cool1: Thanks for your help

You should def check out the Universal website and look at all of the rides, many of them are thrill rides, depending on your kids likes & heights, you may not want to do all of them. You can buy either a 1 park ticket or a 2 park ticket (like Disney's hoppers) you can only go between Studios & Islands in one day if you have the 2 park ticket. Also, I would not get the meal plan, as I think the food at Universal is not very good, instead I would leave the park for an hour at lunch time and eat at citywalk, they have a ton of restaurants within walking distance to the parks and in my opinion they have better food and a better envrioment. You can also view the menu's on allears.net to get an idea of what you will want to eat & the prices.

Since this is your children's first time, you should plan on spending two whole days there so you can experience everything. Pick whichever two days work for you. I would suggest Sunday for WWoHP and any other day for the Studios.

I wouldn't purchase the meal deal unless your family can eat a lot during the day. Remember the parks close earlier in September so you won't have a lot of time between lunch and dinner since dining stops 30 minutes prior to park close. Plus there are much better restaurants to try that are not on the meal deal at both parks and you cannot share plates on the meal deal.

Currents menus are all here on our own sticky:

I also would not do the meal deal. There are many great places to eat that aren't included in the meal deal such as Mythos, Three Broomsticks, Thunder Falls Terrace, Boulangerie, Louie's, Finnegan's and also lots of great Citywalk and resort restaurants as well.

I think that there is very good food to be had at Universal but none of the good places are on the meal plan. I would not bother with it.

Louie's is on the meal plan and it's a great place to eat but I agree with the other places.
