I really have not focused on getting reservations for meals. How hard is it to walk in to table services places in the parks and get seated without reservations?

Anybody tried that lately?

Does the size of the party make a real difference?

Thanks.

LAst 2 years wwe were there for the free DDP, I saw many people walk up and be turned away, so I would try to , make some ADR's now.:cool1: :hippie:

We're going Aug 8-15th & I have called several times to see if I can move a few of my reservations around to different days/times & each time I call they are all booked....

I've tried to move around CRT/Donald's Breakfast @ Tusker House/LeCellier/Teppan Edo. I've also had no luck finding a Fantasmic Dinner Pkg either.

I am an optimist, so if you call now & are flexible with your times/dates you may be able to find something.

Good luck:goodvibes

I would definitely try to call and book something now. If not, I think you may be eating alot of counter service.

Well, you don't have to have the Fantasmic Dinner Package to eat or got to Fantasmic. The seating with the package is on the side. We have done it both ways, and we prefer to use the standard entrance, the best seats are in the middle, and there are lots of them. You can eat at any of the restaurants without purchasing the package.

When will you be there? How many seats do you need? I'll be cancelling soon.

We will be there 8/27 -8/31. There are 6, but we will take ressies for 2, 4, or 6. We can split up if necessary.

Thanks.

PM Me if you can help out.

You are traveling during free dining. Those bookings are for 8/24 on. Being seated at theme park restaurants without an ADR will be practically impossible. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say that you may be turned away from any restaurant in a theme park if you just walk up.

Call now. You may have to take whatever is available, which may mean resort restaurants, Downtown Disney, or off-peak dining times.

Did you manage to find anything?

Check the resorts on the Monorail on the day you are at MK. They might have some openings.

Ask when you check in also. People change plans sometimes and you just never know.

I would try for Kona Cafe. It was one of the best meals of our trip. We had another TS scheduled, but we called to see if we could switch to Kona and it was available for that same day...so good.

Don,t forget us brits get free dinning from the 10th august-we have booked all our adrs but a lot of the restaurants are full-good luck in finding places

We are going in August and whilst I booked most of my ADR's months ago, I did call up last week and get a couple more. If you are looking for character meals I would say you are now out of luck, but other restaurants would be worth a go, phone and see what they have, you may be suprised. Good luck x

Good luck and I hope you get some of what you are wanting. I think it will be hard though. I made ADR's in April for this September and had a hard time getting what we wanted.

I called a few months ago and was completely blocked out of some restaurants for our entire stay for lunch or dinner and I said I would take ANY time available the entire 4 days. At this point during the free DDP, I would think that every slot at a TS inside any park is 100% booked solid.

I would look at a map and figure out your TS places- book a place that is close by but not in the parks so that you don't waste too much time on transporting to the TS places. Sometimes people cancel too- so that might help you out at a couple of places.

Goodluck!

Come back and post what you got!

We are going 8/14-21, and I just moved some ADR's around last week. I wasn't able to get everything I wanted, but ended up happy with the results. We are going to have to do more lunches than usual, and some very early dinners...but it's definitely workable.

Good luck! :goodvibes

you may have better luck getting your ADRs for lunch thank dinner. or try for ADRs at resort restaurants instead of at the parks.

We are going in September and made the few reservations we wanted at the six- month mark. Last week DH asked me to add one thing (at the hotel, not even at a park!) and when I called, there was absolutely no way. So apparently what used to be just a full-booking at the parks has now taken over all the resort restaurants as well.

I don't know if you were doing DDP but at this point if you don't have the reservations I would NOT do DDP. Last September I saw lots of angry people who got upsold DDP at resort check in, and who then could not find a table anywhere. Anywhere. I listened to one man argue at the resort desk trying to get his money back for a bunch of unused table credits.

I mean honestly.. Disney will sell DDP to anyone who asks, and they make you buy it for the whole trip. There is no "sold out" point. They don't say "hey we've sold too many DDP table seats this weekend". Yet there are a finite number of restaurants with a finite number of seats so at some point, somebody's not sitting down to eat. Or a lot of somebodies. :)

We ate one night at Fulton's and when we left, the lobby was packed with people begging for a table, all being turned away because there would be nothing for the rest of the night (this was at 6:30pm). Heard people saying they had walked to every restaurant in DTD trying to get in somewhere, anywhere. The best advice the host staff had for them was to "try the hotels, they might not be as busy". Guy outside on the dock talking on his cell to somebody at DINE, asking if there was anything, anywhere at all and didn't seem to be having luck.
