Two part question:

I am considering going to Disneyland alone during the Disney Expo. Would most likely go 2 days in advance, then attend the expo (3 days).

1. Has anyone been to Disneyland alone? Will it be awkward to ride/eat alone, especially at sit down places in the evening? :sad2:

2. Has anyone been to the Disney Expo? This would be my first trip to Disneyland. Would I be better off going another time, rather than dealing with all the stuff at the Expo and trying to see everything at Disneyland? And - is the Expo any fun to attend alone? :confused3

Thanks for any assistance you folks can provide!

I haven't been to the expo, but I can talk about going to Disneyland alone and let you know that it is AWESOME :cool1: I go alone about once a month.

First of all, it's great to be able to go wherever you want, whenever you want. It's also wonderful to be able to take advantage of the Single Rider Line, which allows you to basically skip ahead in line on Indiana Jones, Splash Mountain, Soarin', Screamin', and Grizzly River Run. Just ask the CM at the front and they'll give you a pass and tell you where to go. Eating alone isn't really a big deal and I usually just play on my iPhone haha.

I have went to DL solo a lot of times. The best thing to go to DL solo is that you can do whatever you want and don't have to do something that you don't want to do when you have other people with you. It does kind of feel weird when you are by yourself for the first time, but you do get use to it more and more during the day and trip. Just like what the pp said that you can take advantage of the single ride line at specific rides and don't have to wait in those long lines. It does not feel weird when I eat alone at a table at the parks. Just eat and everything will go really quickly.

I have attended the D23 Expo in 2009 and it was really fun and exciting to do. If you do care about going to DL, I would go during another time because the D23 Expo only happens once every two years since it debut in 2009. It has everything that resolves around the Disney Company and it is a not missed event for a Disney fan. I'm going to the D23 Expo later this summer and I am planning on spending much of my time at the Expo than going in DL on those days. The Expo will have a lot to do during the three day event.

First time for me at D23 Expo. And I have done DLR solo. There are many of us solo travellers planning to hook up at D23. Look for a DISMeets that week. :)

Sounds like me. The Missus and DS are staying home in NY, and I'm in Anaheim from the Thursday before Expo to the Monday after. While I will miss them, there is a certain freedom to not having to take others into consideration. Plus no guilt for making others stand in the long Expo lines (although my Premiere pass will help with the arena presentations, I hope).

I too am planning on going to the expo and DL alone. Nobody can afford or cares about Disney enough to go with me. I've been to wdw and dlrp alone so DL and Hollywood will be no prob. If u wanna hang out let me know I'd be happy to make a new disney friend. :)

You all inspired me - I'm headin' to Disneyland! Thanks for all the tips. I just subscribed to the D23 meet post. I can't wait to see all of you out there!

Hydroguy - I hijacked the computer tonight and have been reading your DLR tips/articles for about 2 hours. The poor boyfriend will never get the computer back - at least not until August 17 - August 22! :surfweb:
