Going in September

Hi all I' getting really excited now - in 3 weeks time I will be in DLP woot lol
My cousins came back last week and they said it was mega busy
They didn't even get to go on a lot of stuff - including Crush's Coaster due to to 2hr long Q's Does anyone think this will still be the case on the 10 Sept?
I figured hopefully not as kids will be back to school across UK and France...
Anyway this will be my 7th DLP visit and my 13th Disney trip lol in just over 5 years lol
We are staying in the Cheyenne (previously we've stayed at Sequoia and Santa Fe) - any tips or pointers?
Is the bar any good? What's the food and music like?
My mum is coming with us (lol) and she loves all the country and western stuff- is the bar a good place for her to chill after a hard day in the parks? Lol. Be nice to tell her, as she's a bit worried at the moment what she's going to do as she think she's going to get very tried etc.
Just thought I'd share my excitement with you all! Lol.

the hotel cheyenne is a great bar - theres a live band who really are brilliant entertainment, and the drinks are reasonably priced.

the theming in this hotel is second to none, so i'm sure you will really enjoy hanging up your cowboy boots after a hard day!

i dont think september will be as busy as august, it will not be as quiet as in the winter months, but hopefully you will find it much less crowded than in peak summer, when your friend went.

remember, fastpass and EMH are your best friends!

I liked the Cheyenne whenever I have stayed there.

I think all the holidays have been manic in the parks, it was the same when we went the week after Easter. The schools should be back when you are going so it should be a little bit quieter.

I'm there the same time as you, we're staying in the Santa Fe though!
We were trawling sites last night looking at the rides, and in all honesty, there aren't THAT many that we are 'desperate ' to do.....we have a few theme parks here and some of the rides look fairly similar, so I won't queue for ages to go on something I can do locally! I know it won't be the same Disney magic, but we're more intent on just soaking up the disney atmosphere, I think it'll be less stressful this way, rather than dragging a 3 year old from pillar to post. DH is a real wimp when it comes to 'big' rides so unless there's anything that's a ride on, I won't bust a gut trying to go on the grown up things.
This is our first trip so we just want to chill out and savour it, and if we see Buzz and Woody then yes the 3 year old WILL be dragged after them lol! The only ride we are desperate to do is 'Cars' as DS is Cars mad as well as Buzz and Woody, he is so excited about seeing a 'real' Lightening Mcqueen and Mater. SO we will queue for this one for sure, and that's it!

We've been to quite a few themeparks in the UK, but I don't think any of the rides measure upto Disney ones, in fact I'm a real pain because I walk around saying "you wouldn't get this at Disney" or "Disney wouldn't have it done it like that" maybe I'm just biased. lol.

In school term time I don't think you'll have too much of a problem with waiting times, we went the first week of October a few years ago and the waiting times were almost non-existant.

cool. thanks for all the replies guys! and on the comparing other parks point - yea we do that too lol. i have found that NOTHING has ever come close now we have experienced Disney. it never will.

I've just provisionally booked the Cheyenne too in November, it's my second favourite hotel, next to the NPB.

cool. ive not stayed at newport bay. my family have. ive been inside tho. beautiful hotel. but i must say the Sequioa is my fave. that IS a beautiful hotel. especially at Xmas. oh the memories... lol roll on september!!!

i am going on the 9th of September which is a sunday.
i went in september about 5 years ago, and despite the fact sunday was busy the next 3 days were quite. park charcaters were looking for people to have there pictures taken with.

I will be going September 18th -21st, really hoping it isn't too hectic.
Also, I am hoping weather wont be too bad. Its my first time at DLP and staying at sequoia lodge.

Do any of you think the week days are much quieter than weekends? I chose week days for this reason, despite the parks closing earlier. Does the disney village stay open late (The shops)?

I fully expect to be saying the very same thing once we get back, lol. We don't live in UK we live in Germany, as far as I can see, the dumbo ride is very similar to an elephant one that is at the Serengetti Safari Park close to where we live. Once we've 'done' Disney I know nothing else will ever compare. What I meant was that we intend to soak up the ambience more than dash from ride to ride, if you see what I mean?
I know I'm going to be walking round in total awe at the place..I've been dying to go for 15 whole years, sadly we could never afford it when I was growing up , then we booked to go in 2003 for my 25th Birthday but I fell pregnant and couldn't bear the thoght of going at 5 and a half months gone and not being able to enjoy any big rides. Then hubby was posted to Germany and went on several deployments...it's only now I am DEFINITELY going and I am so much more excited than our 3 year old! Nothing is gonna stop me now, and so help me, if characters are wandering around looking for people to have their pics taken with, they'll have to look no further than me!!!

We are going on the 9th of September to. Staying at Sequoia Lodge. Can hardly wait.
It's the 2nd time for our friends, 7th time for me, 6th time for my husband, 1st time for my daughter, but she probably won't remember it, because she is only 9 month old at that time.
But she loves theme parks. We've been to Legoland two weeks ago and she was so exited. So much to see, so many differen noises.
