Going in August

Hi! I am going to WDW in Aug (8-12) for a short honeymoon (staying at CR 14th fl). I am wondering how the crowds are. I know it is hot down there, but does that really make the crowds less or does it just make standing in line that much more unbearable?

It just makes standing in lines more unbearable.

You're going to be there at the end of busy season, but right smack dab in the middle of hot, humid and muggy season. Drink lots of water, wear sunscreen, and keep your sense of humor!

I kinda figured that, but I was holding out hope that some one would tell me "oh the parks are deserted and there are no lines anywhere" of course that same person would probably tell me "oh and don't worry about the heat. along with the popcorn smell they now pipe in air conditioning"

well i guess it is good that I took my FI there last year in april. I wouldn't want his first trip to disney in august... he would get too cranky want to do EVERYTHING. This time we can be happy just hitting a few rides and then going swimming.

Since you know it's going to be hot & crowded, you can go into it with your eyes open. Go early, swim & rest in the afternoon - take advantage of any late night touring you can. Drink lots, keep your sense of humor & you'll be fine.....
I actually like August in WDW. But, I like it hot.......

I've gone there in August the past four times and plan on going in mid-August this year too. I personally find the parks to be a bit less crowded and the parks to still be open a bit later. Plus, I don't mind the heat so much, so its a good time of year for me to go.

we'll be there Aug 13-27
some days planning on parks as soon as they open then spending time at the pools
other days spending time at Stormalong Bay and then at night going to the parks
