My husband and I are taking our five year old son for the first time. Which movies should we watch again before we go? I was thinking the following: Snow White, Cinderella, Peter Pan, and Pinocchio. Any others?

Those are great choices! :cheer2:

I would just add any of the movies that have rides...so... How about The Little Mermaid? The show at MGM is wonderful! :flower: And any of the Pooh movies, and then there is Dumbo!

Have a great time!

Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, etc, they can all be found in the parks in addition to the classic characters. ;)

Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean

definitely Toy Story and Nemo and any of the Mickey cartoon movies! My kids were over Pooh by the time they were five, but Pooh movies if your five year old is still into that! Haunted Mansion and Pirates may be a bit scary for a 5 year old.

Since we are 8 months out from our trip we are doing a movie every 2 weeks.

We have watched Swiss Family Robinson and Jungle Book (I was mad though Blockbuster misxed up the movies and we didn't get the animated one, even though that's how it slotted at BB). I am going to see if they will let me grab the other one too.

If you are going to have breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, make sure to watch Mary Poppins and Pinnochio.

Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast.

DS is 3 1/2 and he loves them. He is also obsessed with Nemo, but you will get more "mileage" out of these movies ------- AK's parade and show are Lion King, the Aladdin carpet rides in MK, and the Belle stage show in MGM>

Also, if he does not already watch Playhouse Disney, show him Bear in the Big Blue House, Stanley and Roli Poli Olie for the show in MGM.

We watched most of these movies on the Disney Channel the last few months but will watch some of them again this week.

You picked some great movies to watch.
I would also add Toy Story and Toy Story 2, Alladin and Finding Nemo.

Have a great time!!!!

I would say Lilo and Stitch -- if you are planning on trying the new Stitch ride, watching it beforehand will keep it more fun and less scary for young kids. It follows pretty good with the movie when he escapes.

i suggest the disney sing a long song videos. like zip a dee doo dah which has songs from song of the south/splash mountain, and song/scenes from its a small world. flik's magical adventure at animal kingdom which shows scenes from the wdw park like the kilimanjaro safari. beach party at walt disney world which shows scenes at typhoon lagoon & blizzard beach. campout at walt disney world and the happy haunting sing along song which is at disneylands haunted mansion. we always watched these with my younger brother & even now, he's handicapped, to prepare for a wdw visit. kids really enjoy the clips & singing.

have a great wdw trip! the other classic disney movies are also fun to watch before a trip.

Disney Sing Along Videos. The Travel Channel also has shows on quite often about Walt Disney World.

Another vote for Disney Sing-a-Long particularlly "Disneyland Fun." Although an older video, it's non-animated with the characters going through a typical Disney day. Starts out before the park opens with "Whistle while you work" and the characters are sweeping the streets and tidying up the shops. They show a lot of the rides too. The video ends with When you wish upon a Star with the fireworks and tired kids. By far the favorite of one of my daughters.

Lion King 1 1/2 is pretty good for the 5 year old.

Go over the rides that the kids might like.
So they can get an idea what to expect.

We watched Alladin, Snow White , Peter PAn, Toy Story, toy story 2, bugs life, Finding nemo, 3 Musketeers, and I am looking for Tarzan!!!

I would also suggest the WDW Vacation Planning Video if you have it - It gives kids a good idea of the size of the Characters & lets them see other kids getting Hugs & stuff from them. It also gives them a glimpse of the attractions they'll be seeing. The WDW shows on the Travel channel have a little of this too.
