Going in 2weeks-walk me through a few things please

We will be going to WDW 2 weeks so for someone like me or many of us who go every year and know what to expect and what to do, I just need some specific information.

I have a split stay so I already have rec'd 2 sets of magic wrist bands. There are 9 of us. 5 of us have our oases already linked to the magic bands with fastpass+ options. The others will be getting passes in WDW but will have them by the time we check in as they are coming down a day ahead and staying off property for one night. Si I think I can got to MDE and link the passes to the magic bands even right up until check -in...is this so?

Here are my other questions:
Check in -do I physically have to do anything with the magic bands to "activate" them or is that done by the check-in CM and through their system rather than physically activating each person's band? Does every person need to be present?(thinking not)

Will both sets of magic bands work or do the second set have to wait to be "activated" after we check in to the second resort?

What is the best way to add the FP+ options to the passes that are not already linked to try to get the same FP+ times as those already booked.

The first time we go to a park is there anything special we need to do? Go to a kiosk or special check-in place?

Is there anything else I need to know about the logistics of this?
