Going from WL to POR will I be let down

We will be at WL from 2/6 to 2/10 and then move to POR AB section from 2/10-2/13. I could not get all 7 nights at WL only the beginning of the trip. We stayed at AKL in 2003 and wanted to try WL.

My concern is that we will feel let down after WL. We stayed at POR (then was DxL) years ago and really enjoyed the resort. But I know both WL and POR AB section are both rustic and I don't want to feel let down when we move.

Any suggestions to keep our POR stay exciting? On our switch day, Thursday 2/10 we are going to relax and do a water park or DQ and eat at Boatwrights. I have AK planned for Friday and dinner at Boma. Saturday we have nothing planned but will probably hit the parks we feel we missed. Any other suggestions?

No, you will not be disappointed. We did the same thing on our last trip and were very concerned. We loved the POR so much we are just booking that next year for the whole trip.

The WL was our favorite, but we loved the POR so much we can not wait to return. We did not request anything and got a room in the mansion section. The pool was great (slide was open an hour longer than WL) and the food court was good for a quick bite.

We have stayed in the mansion section several years ago and wanted to try AB. I just hope we don't keep comparing the rustic nature of both resorts.

I would really be interested in what your thoughts are after your switch. I believe that you will have a wonderful time and have no complaints. I love POR and POFQ. I am not really thrilled with WL though. Just a preference on my part.

Since you are going into this thing knowing that your 'down grading' your resort, I think you'll be pleasenty surprised! As long as you know from the start that the POR is a step down from the WL then you are expecting less, so I think you'll be fine
POR is a wonderful resort and I really love it there!! Especially the mansion section.
I really can't wait to stay there again. I especially love it in the spring time when the flower beds line the river. Absolutley beautiful!!

We are staying at POR in January.

On our last trip, we stayed at the WL and although we really enjoyed it, the only benefit we saw over the moderates was that it was a quick boat ride away from the MK.

The themeing was very nice, but the rooms didn't seem that much different (aside from the themeing) than the CBR where we had stayed before.

Looking forward to POR and the nice boat ride to DTD!

We loved POR when we stayed years go. We have eaten at WL but never stayed there. We thought is was beautiful. In 2003 we stayed AKL and loved the resort.

My real concern is with hubby. He did not go in 2003 to AKL, so he have never stayed in a deluxe before. We either have stayed at the moderates or offsite. I don't want him to feel like he is missing out.

Only if you allow yourself to be disappointed.
In 1998 I went with my sister and we started off with 3 days at the grand Floridian. We then moved to the Wilderness Lodge for 3 days and ended with 3 days at Coronado Springs. We had a great time and really enjoyed all 3 places. Since We had nnever even seen Coronado Springs it was all new to us and we loved it.
I think you will still be happy to be at Dixie Landings.

In 2001 we stayed our first 3 nights at the AKL in a deluxe room. We were assigned one of the rooms with the thatched hut roof and a larger balconey that all 4 of us could sit on at one time. It was awesome. We then moved to 2 rooms at POFQ and as some people may remember POFQ is my least favorite moderate but we had a great time and the room was very nice and I would do it over that way again.
